More of the Andhra style Cuisine...

I ordered Dimsum Chicken and Malaysian flat noodles, Chicken Manchurian and schezwan fried rice, from Beijing bites - Frazer town..... and, never had I eaten food from a chinese restaurant that was so pungent.... It beat the Andhra food hollow !

So be careful when you order here - ask for authentic chinese food thats not spicy . The portions are good, but they definitely have to go slow on the chillies. This is one place where chinese food, didnt taste chinese and goes hand in hand with Andhra food..

needs to retain its authenticity as a chinese restaurant !

Good Value Buffet

I dont think the a la carte is worth it at Cafe Masala. Their buffets however are a great value for 249 + taxes but be there early. Parking is not a problem weekdays but is a torture on saturdays....

However be warned - sometimes, large groups keep streaming in and you have to wait for your favourite food to be refilled. So being there by 12.30 is a great idea..

Wish the management could absorb the parking ticket charges..

Not bad, but lacks in service....

I read the advertisement of Cafe Chinois in the Frazertown times which comes to me free along with my daily newspaper and what caught my attention was the Easter Lunch - 4 course for Rs.220 per person. Finding the amount reasonable, my wife and I decided to explore the place...

We were there at 1.25 pm sharp ( we booked a table for 1.30pm), was shown to our table. We had to wait till 1.50 for someone to come to our table, that too after 2 reminders to take our order. This first course came at 2.30, a good one hour after we got there... The waiters were however fast in refilling the chilled water... but food took ages to come...

I found the food not bad, except that the calamari was sick and tasteless and should be off their starter list ASAP. The steak was good, but the sauce was very salty and the crispy noodle was like the leaning tour of pisa and crumpled and fell all over the place when you tried to break it. What was most disappointing was the dessert - a stale tastng muffin with a chocolate sauce and the apple strudel - just one and a half inch in length nd one inch wide - a very pathet piece servied with cream instead of being served with icecream as mentioned on their menu board at the entrance...

The furniture also, considering I had to wait for over one and a half hours to be served a 4 course meal was very very uncomfortable. I also found the chinky waiters a bit dumb, slow, lazy. Service has to buck up tremendously. Also, the bill in a flimsy menu card looked a bit cheap !

A different kind of restaurant in Frazer town, but, wouldnt last long if the portions are small, and the service is lousy !
