Authentic Mangalore Cuisine
Burrrrp !...Now being a foodie i've been to many restraunts in Bangalore , tried and tasted every thing that seemed or looked strange in the Menu , but of all i must say that Hotel Fishland in gandhinagar close to the KG Bus Station ( diagonally opposite to another landmark and famous Hotel called Kamat ..famous for its Bakri Roti and Brinjal curry ) ..is the BeSt for SEAFOOD !
Taking a look at the decor it seems like a Hotel set up in the mid 70's ..i vaguely remember my Dad bringing us here for those once in a while dine outs !! . the food is exceptional !...I dont mind starving to come here for a meal !..
coming now to the Important details .....
The humble waiters here dont wear any footwear , i sense that they respect and honour their profession and believe that coustomer satisfacion is their main objective
The food is authentic manglorish , with coconut being an ingredint part of every dish they serve ..heres what you have to try !
Crab masala ...Rs 70/-
Crab Chilly ...Rs 110/- ( a must Have !..trust me on this ..its worth every penny you pay !! )
Maravai Sukka( Mussels ) ..Rs 55
All the above dishes are secretly gaurded recepies . the Maravai Sukka has a generous helping of Garlic ,coconut and lots of Mussels !!!..for a throw away price of 55 bucks !!...
coming to Fish...,..
Surma.....Rs 100/-
Kane (called lady lady Fish ) ...Rs 100/-
Samdale fish ...Rs 70/-
Silver Fish ... " " /-
The above are typically manglorie and well known ...
you could have these with a Thali , that costs 100/-.or simply keep ordering the above dishes one after the other !!!...
5 stars for the concern shown by the waiters , ..these guys are from towns in Mangalore and the owner sees to it that they come from that Innocent city !!...they 'd easily put to shame all those waiters having degrees and wht not !!..
Ambience ...ah forget it , i'd come here even if there isnt any !!
Food--- excellent
Price ---reasonable starts from Rs 60 and goes upto Rs 350 /- (for some dishes )
Service ---Humbling ...you will want to give him all that gratitude in the end !

We were here for a Birthday treat , 14 of us in total !...located on the top most floor of Central Mall , one can get a skyline view of the city around ...a great place if you want to take your woman on date :-)...be sure to book a table by the terrace .
We were seated inside, and the ambience is really good. One can see the chef spinning rotis in a glass like enclave ...The food starts of from Rs 200 , sea food is quite costly at Rs 600 for the crabs and lobsters ....they have a good range of cocktails too ...a must visit for couple's who want some time out , but not recommended if your in to treat a group of 14!!....It 'd burn a HOLE in your pocket leaving you broke for the rest of the month !...teh bill came upto Rs 10500/- only cause we ordered a single dish each !....yea teh price is huge baby !
Service wise ..these guys are quite slow but kind enough to listen to you with patience ....
I still wonder why its called "Copper Chimney"

Price ----Expensive ( but you definitely need to give it a one time visit)

Go for the Chilly pork !
Been to Pecos in the past , but this time round i went there alone just to take sometime out to write this review !.
Pecos i must say is a Pub for the college goers and adults alike !...lots of smoke and loud music as you enter the top floor !.
the Beer was good , i had it along with chillly pork , and then ordered for a plate of coorg pork ....simply awesome !.
their prices range from Rs 100 to Rs130 per dish ...and Rs 200 for one Pitcher of Beer ....and of course i couldnt finish it all !.
all in all ...a good experience if you simply want some good coorgie food to go along with your beer .
Service - okish ( they get their Bills in a soup cup for some unknown reason !)
Food -- good , try the chilly pork and chiken tikka ,
Ambience ---not my kind ,..dont visit this place if you want to make a conversation happen ! cause it wont ....the music is too loud !
Price ---- Rs 300 min ( if you are taking Beer ie )

Dont worry about the ambience ,. , ..you are here for the beer ! so get that straight ..., the side dishes go really well with the cold Beer served , ..try the chilly chicken, and the chicken roast ...

Tandoor , has a rustic feel to it , brilliantly decorated interiors , well kept tables and the Loo here is something which one would like to visit often ,during teh course of his /her stay there !...(dont ask me why ! )........
Coming to the food , i could'nt understand most of what was written on the menu !, was confused on wether it was Punjabi or Rajasthani !..never-mind , the well dressed waiters out here are all the more glad to help you out !...
I 'd suggest ya'll to try paranthas , there are a whole variety of em !, and any good side dish which the waiter suggests ,.....
Ambience : good , perfect for a family reunion , or to celeb ones anniversary
Price : not for regulars , best for once in a month eat out types , ...starts from Rs 200
Food ,: good quality for the price one pays , ..delicious
