Good

Lovely Berry Pulao

My parents were visiting from Singapore and asked me where they could try Parsi food. So we landed up here on a Wednesday afternoon, waited 15 mins for a table and ordered chicken berry pulao, fish patra and veg dhansak. The berry pulao and fish were superb. The dhansak was average. Shared a misti doi for dessert which was sort of a caramalised sweet yogurt based sort of custard. A tad sweet for my taste but nice. The coolest thing was that it felt like you were going back in time and the place feels like time hasn't moved in 20 years.

Thumbs Up To The NTP

I was always a fan of the Old Thai Pavilion ("OTP") and was worried what it would be like the New Thai Pavilion ("NTP") in its new avatar when I went there for dinner yesterday esp since I had read a few bad/average reviews of the NTP since its relaunch in November.

The two of us had an absolutely wonderful meal - good food, great service and a wonderful ambiance. We had the tom yum soup, phad thai, green curry, snapper with curry paste and morning glory. Decent servings which did not leave enough space for dessert.

Satisfying

Being lazy on Sunday we decided to give Falafel's delivery service a try. We ordered falafel sandwiches, sour chillis and hummus at 1.15pm and were told that it would be delivered in 25 mins. It arrived in 20 mins. Everything was up to the mark. This is going to a regular for us,

Good

As good as always

Order takeaway from Ling's which is now becoming a habit on Sundays. Noodles, Pomfret in blackbean and chilli and mah po tofu were excellent. But take a miss on the aubergiene beijing which was a chinese version of baingan bertha.

Good

Consistently good chinese in Colaba

Given I live around the corner, it is probably no surprise that Ling's is my favourite local chinese. I usually call up and order a few dishes to pick up and have at home. Today we had the Singapore noodles, vegetarian aubergine with black bean and chili sauce and pomfret with chili and garlic.

All dishes were very good particularly the aubergine and the pomfret.

Total bill inc tip Rs 700. Great value.
