Street Food in Style
'Chatoree Galli' - Another innovative idea from one of my favourite places.
Went in this Friday with my friends to be surprised to find mela type street food counters serving live chaats. We had the mumbai pau bhajji, authentic delhi tikki chaat and not to miss the golgappas!. All these were being made and served right in front of our eyes and we could tweak them, just the way we wanted. All this for Rs. 100 only.
These guys sure know how to please your taste buds time and time again.

Good Food Yes - Amritsari NO
I know Amristari khana and this is not it...it was good, well cooked but not the authentic.
We went in late thursday night and it was crowded. Gimmicky it was and the ambience was fun. The service was a little out of place with a lot of waiters running around..
All in all enjoyable but Amritsari - no way..

Fast and Quick Service
They delivered to my home in flat 16 minutes after my order.
Phew I was so very pleasantly surprised.
And the food was hot and very tasty.
This is true blue american service standards.

High expectations - poor results
The other day we went in a small group to catch a movie at INOX and thought to grab a dinner at Sikander.
Only to be very unpleasantly surprised by the whole experience.
We were 4 of us so we ordered a Veg Kebab platter. As few of my group mates were drinking, we asked the manager to get us the kebabs one by one. In 5 minutes flat we get the whole platter only to be shocked that it was 'Cold'. Clearly the food served to us was not fresh and given just kept.
When we asked them, they just took away the plate and got it back in 2 minutes - obviously after heating it in Microwave. Also the kebabs were funny - we had 6 peices of one type and 2 of one. I would assume a platter has a few of each type.
Now to the taste - I am unsure why the kebabs were tasting bad - there was no unique flavour or beacuse they were cold.
All in all that killed our whole experience and we decided to move to 'Kobes' for the main course.

Its a blessing!!!
We simply loved this place. The food was simple and yet so tasty. People serving us were all smiles. Made a great dining experience. Should not be missed.
