Poor
Living up to the Gujarati tradition the name suggests grandeur.
The way Sasuji (Mother-in-law) would like to treat her son-in-law.
Unfortunately the table turns upside down after your experience.
There is no proper facility to park your vehicle. You will be like an army Jawan who is trained to walk four miles before he gets to drink some water. Similarly you will have to park your car on some extreme end of C G road and walk back up to this place half drained of your energy and excitement to have a good meal.
Since this place happens to be very popular amongst the Gujarati Thali lovers, you will have to wait for a while before you get a table for yourself especially on weekends.
To worsen the situation they don't even have a proper waiting list execution system
The waiting areas for guests is too small to accommodate the people waiting for their turn and sadly does not even have proper cooling or ventilation which makes things horrible in the summer afternoons of Ahmedabad where 42-44 degrees is the normal temperature.
The elevator does not have a capacity of more then 5 people at a time which makes things difficult for the aged and people in large number of groups. Imagine yourself in a group of more than 20-30 people, starving because you didn't have proper breakfast also to get the full worth of your money you are going to pay for the Thali.
The real nightmare starts after you have settled down on the table. You will encounter herds of misbehaving stewards who flock by your side in huge numbers to pour in all they have to offer, half of it in your Thali and half of it on your clothes.
Absolutely contradictory to our tradition of 'Atithi Devo Bhava', where a guest is compared to God.
They serve traditional varieties like their counterparts: Rotli - Thepla - Bhakhri, Kadhi - Dal, one Punjabi curry along with a Gujarati vegetable. One or more preparation of Farsan. Two or more sweets which are generally good for all you sweet tooths and the normal accompaniments of Papad, Pickle and Butter milk.
The food is mediocre as far as the taste and make is concerned.
They also have a banquet hall which has a capacity to accommodate 300 odd people.

Good
Surprisingly I don't remember of going to this place at decent hours.
Late nights are jam packed especially during weekends & festivals.
There are chefs & stewards I know who have been associated with this place for more than a decade.
This kind of consistency assures good service & food.
You should definitely try any of the paneer items on the menu.
They also have some good snacks to offer.
If I have to define this place in nutshell, you won't be disappointed is all I would choose to say.
Just a word of caution for guys going with their female partners or family since this place happens to be amongst the favourite place for people who don't care, they live in a dry state.

This happens to be our hangout since more then 15 years.
They have recently renovated it.
It adores a cool look after the recent makeover.
You get everything from chips, aerated drinks to ice cream.
Its more like an ATM for a quick grab on the run especially when you fall short of some munching or aerated drinks in the dry state.

This place is just a stone throw distance from my place.
Usually prefer this place for some quick grab on the run or home delivery.
The food usually turns out to be better than expected.

Good
I have generally been to this place late evenings, the ideal time for a true blue Gujju foodie to go for an head on with all the trans fats one can think about. When I was here for the first time the owner Mr. Sanjay came up to me very courteously and gave me a brief about the specialties they have on their menu.
It was my first encounter with the delicious Alu mutter sandwich made up of six different types of special chutneys. It was indeed lip smacking. I just could not resist myself from indulging deeper into the menu. Time for the monaco topping; monaco biscuit with veggies loaded with tons of cheese.
Even the pizza is a must try.
Caution foodies: This place is addictive.
