Poor
I had sworn never to visit this place again ... but then a friend insisted on treating me there (he was new to this place and really wanted to try out italian). Oh well ... his money ... so we go there (in my defense, I did make a modest effort to talk him out of it).
My comments from previous review below still stands. Decent food, but hardly italian. Still missing a lot of things in terms of both ambiance and food that would classify it as italian food. Wait staff still sucks for the kind of prices they are charging - essentially they are no better than any normal xyz-sagar restaurant wait staff - never smiling, ignorant about what a good quality service should be like etc.
Bottom line - The price simply does not justify the experience. Go there only if someone else is paying for it !

Average
Read my other review just below this review. I was gushing back then about how I found a diamond in the rough. So I just wanted to give an update on this place after my recent visit there. Apparently, their business must have picked up (were the reviews here responsible?!). They have almost doubled their prices ... which in itself I would not have grudged, but when coupled with lower quality and smaller portions of food, I have to give them a thumbs down. Still Rs 150 for a full meal for average clean food isn't too bad ... so I give them an average 3/5.

Excellent
I read the other reviews of this place and decided to try it out. They were spot on. And I give it two thumbs up. This should definitely be on your To-Do list.
Location:
If you happen to go to bannergatta Rd. (going towards bannergatta, you will see on your left side in a muddy moon-cratered lane some cream colored buildings cleared marked "Ranka colony" and this restaurant is right opposite in a home).
Ambiance/Service:
Atmosphere was very clean (not high class or chic but clean). Also, this place is away from the maddening noise of bannergatta Rd. Service was quite decent. They bought a finger bowl both before and after the meal and gave me a newspaper to read during the wait for the order to arrive. Nice eh!
Food:
The food was the best part. True HOME MADE TASTE, I tell ya. All veg only. I think they had only one paneer dish. The rest was all what you would really expect to be cooked in a N.Indian home. No greasy food like many of the punjabi restaurants.
Cost:
Hee hee .. I honestly felt like it was I who ripped them off by paying only a 100 bucks for some delicious Dal-palak, Cucumber Raita, Baingan Bharta and 8 phulkas (really soft and nice wiith ghee). All vegetables cost only between 18-to-22. This quantity was sufficient for two normal people (and I am two people - maybe I should change my avatar from Yoda to Jabba-the-hutt).
This place deserves to be in business. Great value. Patronize it if you can.

Good
Location: As the previous reviewer said ... this place is easy to locate on banergatta rd. You can't miss the dominos after the wockhardt hospital and this one is 2 floors above it. In between is a chinese restaurant too (will try that next time). Parking is in basement. Lift was not working when I needed to go up, but when I came out of the restaurant, lift was working.
Food: is mostly non-veg fare. Since I am veg, I can't comment on its non-veg quality. In the veg, the selection of subji's was a bit limited compared to most restaurants. However, the taste was great. The quantity of one subji is easily enough for two (and believe me .. I'm fat .. so I know). Nan/Kulchas were nice and crisp (not the kind you have to stretch like chewing at rubber).
Cost: Rs 200 for one paneer subji and 3 naans including tips.
Ambiance: Very nice! Other places with this ambiance will charge twice as much.
However, there was some chopping/grinding noises coming from the kitchen which they should isolate. Music was light and low volume, furniture is new and elegant. Service was efficient and courteous. I wouldn't mind taking a date out to this place.

Good
Best way to get there ... Go on outer-ring rd towards btm .. at shell gas station intersection, take a left and keep going till you come to 11th main. Take a right on 11th main. Keep going till you see this place on your left.
Nice little place with clean, simple and functional modern decor with the plastic chairs. No menu cards (menu is on wall behind cashier). This is pay and order first, then sit down and eat place. Waiters had a little trouble understanding English (or maybe I have a really bad accent).
Every entree is a combo platter - more or less a thaali system - primarily with Dal, some vegetable, and your choice of roti / nan / kulcha / paratha. Comes with raita, salad, pickle. Did not try any of the juice/lassi drinks but may try next time. I could see they were fairly good size. My platter with 3 nans, paneer, dal, raita cost me Rs 104.
Best part is that everything was really tasty (the home made feel to it). Not very spicy - though I am sure many of you prefer your food to be really spicy. I intend to return to this place so I will recommend it.
