Excellent
The wada-paav immediately reminded me of Aamchi Mumbai. Misal Paav, Thalipeeth, Sabudana Wada ... finally found a place to escape to for having food that I really really like!
I am pretty sure of heading back there soon! To have Puri-Srikhand and Bhakri!
Unassuming place, resembles any other darshini in Bangalore in appearance. The price puzzled me a bit because the most I pay for a wada-paav back home is 6 bucks and here I paid more than twice that amount. Same goes for Misal Pav. But getting home food away from home makes up for that :-)
Food is freshly cooked once you place the order and it is clean also. The serving time is fine considering that they make it once you place the order.

Good
Halli Mane has the look of a fast-food eatery masked by a dim-light terrace seating place that, frankly, is not great but a quiet enough place to enjoy a meal.
Firstly, the seating arrangement is not great; small hard chairs. Depending on the crowd you might have to wait for a table, and I hear it is very crowded on weekends.
The food! Yes, the dosas and the appams are sizeable in portions, and are crisply cooked, served piping hot. We tried a curry preparation with the dosas and it was good. We ordered some cauliflower and baby-corn manchurian for starters and, surprisingly, it was very well made. A suggestion, stay away from the herbal drinks. The ice-creams are fresh and delicious!
Serving time is a sore point, but given the crowd it can be excused. The place is clean enough but can be better.

The ambience and the decor is good, thankfully not overdone or overwhelming. The seating is quite comfortable too, although we landed there on a day when the place was 2/3 occupied for a family function. Our makeshift table was not in a comfortable spot, but will ignore that since the usual sitting looks neat.
The food, well I didn't have any non-vegetarian food on the day, so I can not comment about the chicken or fish. The veg portions; starters don't have enough quantity I feel, at least compared to some of the other places. Thankfully they are well-cooked, but the marination was not great. The shorba is, well, like shorba, and I don't really like shorba. Could anyone please suggest a place where they serve normal thick tomato soup, please?
Coming to the main course, the Paneer Jalfrezi is great! Do try it! Vegetable Jaipuri stayed in accordance with what the menu said, and I enjoyed the cashew based gravy. The roomali rotis are cooked in view of everyone by a chef, and I must say the roomali basket with 5 different roomali varieties was delightful!
Service is quick. The complimentary jaljeera drink served at the start is refreshing. Price is moderate to semi-expensive, although if you cut down on starters and stick to a good main course and minimum dessert (not many options) you might really enjoy it!

The first thing I would tell you if are going to Oye Amritsar is, please have the lassi, and be sure you have the appetite for it. It is tasty and at the same time, served in a monstrously large glass ... balle balle!
Ok, my first reaction when I stepped into the place was, 'overdone'. The decor is good, and they have tried really well to create the dhaba look (so have Angeethi, Punjabi Times and others) but they have tried too hard; the lights, the khaats, the posters and the deliberate typos in the menus; goes a bit over the mark. Anyways, once you are seated for about half an hour, it seems fine. The seats are comfortable and the tables are large so no problem with the seatings at all.
The servers and waiters are very prompt and friendly, plus patient as well. We twice took our own leisurely time when ordering when the person taking the order was made to stand next to us, but there was no complaining or urging to order fast. Once ordered, stuff came in good time.
The noticeable thing about the fare is the bit of innovative thinking put into the dishes; vodka pani puri for example! Although being a Mumbaikar I didn't like straying away from the conventional pudine ka paani, it seemed nice to try for a change. The vegetables are well prepared and quantity is decent too. The cauliflower was half-cooked in all our dishes though, that includes a starter. The chicken is good, and well cooked tandoori is always a great sign!
Cost, slightly over-priced in the starters section, especially since the starters are pretty average, the paneer tikkis for sure are. The drinks are fine, desserts are like any other place. A meal for 4-5 with few drinks (and lassi) puts you at 2000-2500 bucks, more depending on the drinks.
PS: It would help if they make their name-plate clearer, it is difficult to find the place.

Have been here quite a few times. A good place if you wanna grab a quick bite!
The Katti Rolls are really good and are served well in time. Suggestion, try the Aloo-Egg roll. The milk shakes are good enough, but could be much better. The chicken is oily. Ice-cream are 5/5 though.
If you have some time you can grab a seat upstairs. The sitting is low roofed and uncomfortable, however. The place is decently clean.
Plus point: very affordable!
