The view is amazing. Totally stands by its name. By the bay. Evening time is the best to visit. Though a bit overpriced but a true delight.

Very expensive pizzas

I went there just once but was pretty disappointed with the food prices which doesn't make it worth it.

The ambiance is great as it overlooks Marine Drive but the pizza is overpriced.

We had a medium pizza once for over Rs 600.

The service is also very slow and worse on the weekends when we went.

Vege-Lovers Pizzaaa bestt

Pizza by the bay located in churchgate have beautiful sea view. Ambience is very good and service is also good but very expensive but if you want yummy Italian food you have to spend a little more. There are varieties of pizza and pasta in veg and non veg both. Garlic bread and minestrone soup are also too good. there mocktails and cocktails are too good.last time we had mojito and ice tea they were also good in taste. People those who want to experience real authentic pizza should visit here...

Too expensive

The best thing here is the ambiance and the amazing view of the marine drive and the sea that we get. The pizzas are good but way too expensive. Now even domino’s has improved their menu and you get 1 pizza here in the same amount that you can have 3 at domino’s. Not pocket friendly at all in that sense. Had Bombay masala pizza since heard so many good things about it, but it was basically so oily that I felt I had wasted 700 bucks in those 4 measly slices of nothing but oil and some masala. My friend ordered for veg supreme which had amazing toppings but that made the pizza bread a bit clumpy. All in all, would not go back here unless they revise their prices.

Love the view

Tried alio olio and margherita pizza at Pizza by the bay. Both the dishes were absolutely amazing, the margerita pizza is one of the best I've had after Juno's pizza at Kemps Corner.

The place is so amazing, I mean who doesn't love Marine Drive? You can sit and stare at that scenic views for hour and never get bored.

Love the place, the service, however, I wish was a little more efficient.

price is just way too much

It is a very famous place, for pizzas-bombay masala pizza is the best which my friends love the most. They have a soup, sandwich, dessert buffet every afternoon which is value for money in my opinion. If you order for individual items,I think it is unnecessarily expensive. Ofcourse there is the unmatched view of marine drive and Arabian sea if you sit near the wide windows,so maybe you would like to pay for it. I for one would rather go for buffet than pay 700 for 1 pizza that is sufficient for just 1 person-5 star prices is exorbitant!

Sunday Breakfast

Love to come here for breakfast on sundays. Good choice and their location can't be matched. Either have a jog and then breakfast here or eat and have a walk down the promenade. Now they have an additional offer of Rs. 199 breakfast on which makes it VFM also. Their smoothies and drinks are priced slightly on the higher side hovering around the 150 area. Pick a spot next to the window and you get to see the sea and exotic cars whizz by. Service too is pretty fast.

One of the best pizzeria's in town.

Been here on a sunday evening for a coffee and a snack. So didnt really have the pizza which it is famous for. The ambience is simply awesome... the sea view, the service, the quality of food, the overall experience is simply one of the best.
Will be surely visiting the place again for a full meal next time. I believe the best time to visit this place is during afternoon for lunch with the best view in the non AC section on tge sides next to the windows. There are also some good deals on beers from monday to friday.

Pizza at the PAY!

Pizza by the bay is situated at a nice corner right in front of marine drive. It is really overpriced. And there is too much hype around it. Pizzas aren't that great. Its almost 5 times the price of a pizza you get at Pizza Hut or Dominoes. And the taste is almost the same. It has an open bar. Drinks are nice but they too are pricey. The good thing is the location. And I guess that's the only good thing about it.

Fraud Billing - Mandatory Charges as Charity

Complaint Text?
The Pizza By the Bay charges a mandatory Rs 5 for every bill under the category "Charity". This charges are levied directly into their billing system without taking prior consent from the customer if they wish to contribute to the charity or not. The charges are directly built into the total bill amount without option to agree/ refuse Charity donation. Printed at the bottom with dull print most customers do not notice the charges and pay assuming as part of various government taxes.

Consequences?
1. The default charity charges are billed to each and every customer without prior consent.
2. If the customer objects they still charge them the full amount including the charity charges
3. No where in the restaurant premises or menu card it explicitly states that Charity Charges will be added to the bill amount.
4. The business files for tax free income under the pretext of charity which is not charged on voluntary basis

pizza with a view

We had dinner here for our last night in Mumbai. We shared 2 pizzas. They were very tasty. Service was good. It is a nice location overlooking marine drive and the queens necklace. Otherwise we left satisfied. Food is nice, try the pizzas, I think they are better than their pastas.Service was very friendly and efficient throughout. The menu offered traditional pizzas as well as pizzas with an Indian twist, which is what we opted for. The Indian Smoke (with tandoori paneer, mushroom, peppers, onion) and the Super Supreme were both excellent, with crispy light bases.

Amazing View, Good Food Too!

I absolutely love the ambiance here!! The way they have designed two sections is excellent because the "outer" section makes you feel like you have a bit of an "outdoor" feeling without actually being outdoors, and being subjected to the noise & pollution that is nearby. However, you are not compromising on the lovely views of the Arabian Sea! The indoor section has a more of a European "Bistro" feel and also looks inviting. Although, I have personally always opted for the "outdoor" like section because I love looking out into the sea while enjoying the pizza. The Pizzas and appetizers are really nice. This is honestly one of the better slices of pizza you can get in South Mumbai. I have noticed then when I ask the servers to keep the pizza in the oven slightly longer than the normally do, they turn out much better. Ask them to make the pizza "well-done" and you will be pleasantly surprised!

Nice Service

I visited this place last month and had a bit different experience

I ordered the veg salad ... had some mood to eat salad that day . the salad was nice and colorful as expected nicely presented .. but after awhile i hit upon a bug in the salad ... and I notified it to the serving waiter .. they took this very seriously and manager on duty came to serve me a new dish and requested not to reorder the salad as it would take some time to clean the stock of salad in the kitchen.

After I finished they served me a complementary brownie, it was very delicious ... I asked for my bill after I finished ... and they charged me nothing and the manager said everything I had ordered was made complementary on account of cook's flaw in serving the salad.. a very nice service ... the food was also tasty ... except about the bug every thing was nice

Great Ambience - Very Average Food

Reached at 10.30 pm for a late night pizza. The simple thin crust margherita was soggy like a tandoori naan and very average. The fig ice cream on a brownie was a disaster. Stale brownie and biscuit meant that the ice cream was delicately scooped up and eaten. To redeem taste buds a chicken salad was ordered with the explicit instruction and acknowledgement that rocket leaves be added. We got the yes sir treatment and ofcourse no rocket.

So to sum it up, ho hum food, great ambience (which is worth going and paying for), friendly staff but definitely not a gourmet joint. A pity since the earlier avatar was more of a friendly family/grabbing a bite with friends kind of place. The new white marble and airconditioned glass area raises expectations only to dissapoint

Okay..

Staying in South Mumbai and having my college nearby, had always thought of going to this place. Finally one day went to this place, also known as Jazz By the Bay, with my cousins to celebrate one of my cousins b'day. Another reason for choosing this place was because he is a Pizza Lover. Being Vegetarians we ordered for 2 varieties of Pizza's. The taste was ok. Not to our liking completely. May not go there again.

Old favourite, now overpriced

Pizza by the Bay aka Not just Jazz by the bay aka Pizzeria has always been a favourite haunt for pizza lovers. This place is a must visit, especially at the start of the monsoons since it is great for people watching and the lovely sea face on Marine Drive. This place has always had the most amazing Bombay Masala Pizza which is different from ANY plain cheese pizza that you can get anywhere. The jalapeño cheese poppers are also top notch as is the iced tea.

However lately the prices have just gone through the roof. 800 bucks for a 12'' plain cheese pizza is just crazy, even as per 5 star hotel standards. Is it yet worth it? Definitely not, instead I suggest the awesome buffet inside which is yet one of the best value for money buffets in South Mumbai.

Used to frequent this a lot when it was Pizzeria and been here once till now after the name change. The menu more or less seemed similar to me with slight variations. The location will remain the star point, and so will sadly the long wait lines. The pizzas are delicious, the soups and salads are good too. Worth only for the Sea View

Pizza by the bay - the good old Pizzeria's new name. The name may have changed but the location , the ambiance (the best thing about this venue) remains the same.
And so does most of the menu too.
The pizzas are suitable Indianized, so don;t go there expecting an authentic Italiane xperience. What's the best part of having a meal at this place is simpley getting one of those table that give you an unobstructed view of the Arabian sea, the famous Queen's necklace glittering in all it glory shining back at you(though it's ground floor so its not exactly the necklace view)
Offlate the bruschetta has becaome my least favorite as it arrived a bit soggy and heavy.
The avocado prawns on the other hand were fairly decent and the accompanying sauce (the name I donot remember unfortunately) was great.

Then we had the marine Drive salad (in parts due to its name and in parts for my love of tuna). It had tuna, salad greens, capers and far too much potato then I would have liked.
Then finally the pizza...we rdered the Indian smoke (whihc is tandoori paneer and mushroom pizza) and stuffed crust meat pizza (which had pepperoni, sausage and pork)
The vegetarian pizza seemed far better in taste surprisnglly. The stuffed crust was just baked a bit too hard and was unchewy.
At the end of it I just couldnot continue eating it and shared the veg pizza with my friends.

Another friend tried the pot pie and absolutely didnot like it. I was not interested in even trying it after the stuffed pizza debacle so basically all of attacked our poor vegetarian friend's pizza!
All in all, this is a place I would go to purely for the views and not much else. And to think of it I can enjoy the view for free simply by sitting at the promenade, so perhaps that's a better option.

Strictly OK

We went there with my parents to try the lunch buffet, the decor & ambiance is great, the view is superb as well. The service is efficient & prompt, however the food leaves a lot to be desired, the salad bar is not up to the mark, a lot of salads were old & reused. The main courses & the dessert spread as well was not up to the mark, every since the place converted from Jazz by the Bay to Pizza by the Bay they seem to have lost their original charm. Will not be going back there for sure!!!

Pizza By The Bay is one of the renowned places near church gate. The pizza available is the best i have so far eaten. But it is not worth for having lunch or dinner as it is too expensive and the food is not up to the money charged but surely it is a great place for enjoying hot pizzas facing sea side with some one special.

The Bumbai Pizza!

This not so pocket friendly placed got renovated recently. They converted the bar inside to a full time fine dining place. Right opposite the point lies this uptown pizzeria. Good things first they have the best pizzas in town. The bombay masala being the favourite is typical spices seasoned on top pizza lovely to have with ketchup. It offers great white sauce pastas too. The cheese garlic bread is the highlight with slices of bread attached to each other by cheese which melts in your mouth. The bad thing about it is they have hiked those prices four fold. With the damage it causes to the wallet what was first a frequent visit pizzeria has turned into a lets go there once a year pizza place.

Not worth it

I have been a regular customer of this restaurant for many years. I always visit it when I am in Mumbai. I was here earlier this evening and let me say was very impressed by the renovations. But their pricing is ridiculously expensive. 2 starters + 1 soup and 2 pizza + 2 beers + 1 coke + 2 aquafina + 1 dessert should not cost Rs 4432. the sangria costs Rs 530 whereas its costs Rs 350 at Busaba and the Tasting Room, which are more upmarket fine dining restaurants than ur restaurant. I will definitely not be visiting this restaurant any more. The food was good but nothing that great. Service was good.

meaty delight

Had been here when it was Jazz by the Bay and wasnt a burper then so decided to review it now. Aweful experience

I was a big fan of Pizzeria.. when it was Pizzeria.. but off late the quality sucks... Went there yesterday evening... Ordered an Indian smoke pizza (Paneer, mushroom, peppers and onion). We dont like mushrooms hence asked them to not add it. The pizza we got had exactly 3 small pieces of green capsicum with loads of paneer. When we complaint, they added few more pieces of green capsicum and served it. When i clarified to them that peppers and capsicum are 2 different things and they have other pizzas with capsicum in their menu, the arguement the waiter gave was that pepper is only when there is mushroom... such a ridiculous explanation. sorry, but it was also bland and tasteless. in addition to that, the manager was also sarcastic when i tried explaining him.
So, in summary, BAD food..equally BAD service..and i dont think i m going back their again.. though it wouldn't matter to them coz people still go there coz of good memories of Pizzeria days.. but not me..

BAD PIZZA and a GOOD PASTA

that rating's the average of a BAD PIZZA and a GOOD PASTA

Really bad pizzas. Burnt crusts, bland flavored toppings, not to mention bare-minimum toppings and priced above Rs 600. Totally bad scene.

And that's when we decided to order pastas. We ordered the white as well as the read sauce pastas. they were good, like really good. The penne, linguine etc where really soft and well cooked. the flavors weren't that strong, nor were they bland (like their pizzas). The decision of ordering the pastas actually got back my views of the place.

So yes, if you going to Pizza by the Bay, please, DONT order the pizzas and do order at least 1 Pastaz

The interiors have changed! Nothing else! The location is the best a restaurant can have and the food hasn't changed since I last came here! The Bombay masala still remains a favourite and the spaghetti blew my mind! It's the best way to wind up a weekend! Well priced, good food and a great atmosphere! Only problem was that the order took took to long to be served, but the food made up for it no doubt

excellent!

Have been a fan of this place since a friend introduced this place to me a couple of years ago.

It's the gorgeous view of the skyline and sea from your table which makes the place all the more awesome.

Used to love the pizzas there before the change in decor, but my pizza experience hasn't been the same after the change here, not to forget the fact that the prices have gone a notch higher too.

I had a chance to sample the breakfast menu today, and I must say it is quite impressive. There's variety in the food menu, along with a fairly good range of teas, coffees, coolers and smoothies. Only complaint is that my baked beans had more sauce than beans!

horrible pizza

This place by far has the worst pizza i have had especially in a place with the word pizza in its name. i was shocked that a place with such a strategic location and not very reasonable prices would serve me with 12 inches of disaster on a platter with stale over cooked chicken and tasteless toppings. Nothing about the pizza was right. The crust , the cheese, the chicken all of it was a complete mess. The pizza wasn't even a whole circle or a square and looked like the chef tossed it on a pan and threw on a platter. It was worse than an amateur attempt at making pizza and am very very disappointed

Not as good as what it was a decade ago

Went here with my wife and her mom on her birthday this past week. Earlier, we thought of going to Marine Plaza to have their dinner buffet, but there was not a single soul in that restaurant and the prices were unexplainably high. Ended up at Pizza By The Bay

Ambiance:
The restaurant has changed a while ago. The outdoor seating is still the same, however, the indoors have now changed from a pub to a full fledged restaurant. The lighting is adequate and the place is well decorated.

Service:
It was a birthday and we brought a cake. That is what everyone would do. They did not allow us to cut the cake inside citing 'company policy'. Upside is that they did give us a complimentary pastry to cut inside the restaurant

Food:
Menu has completely changed since the last time I went there a few years back. You still get Italian food ranging from Pastas, to Pizzas to Rissotos. We ordered for a portion of Fries which were perfectly fried. Also a Sorrentina pasta which had the most delicious tomato sauce I've had and the juiciest of all chicken breasts. A Pasta Alla Pizzeria which had almost no sauce and was dry and lumpy. I had the 'Great Balls of Fire' Pizza Pot Pie, which was disappointing. The crust was lumpy at places and unevenly baked. Should really have called for a regular pizza

Service:
The waiters were attentive and there was no complaint. The waiters did know what the dishes meant and what they would contain. Barring the fact that they did not allow us to cut the cake inside, I think Service deserves atleast a 7/10 stars

Damages:
Meal for 3 - 2600 bucks, which was expensive, but you won't really go there every weekend, so I guess it was worth it

Fine dining atmosphere but ok food

We went there yesterday. The ambiance was awesome. The decor though a little too white was soothing. There was a mix of people from all age groups. I really loved my wine cocktail and enjoyed the jalapeno starters. But didn't really like the pizza, the crust was soaked because of excessive sauce and no taste. I have tasted better pizzas at roadside stalls. The pasta was not up to the mark either. Price wise the place is okay but they really need to improve the taste. I was really hoping for a good pizza since the place is famous for it. Will try this place once again because i really liked the service and want to give the chef one more chance.

Downhill and How..Only Bombay Masala

The saying "Don't mess up a good thing" must have been said keeping Pizza by the Bay in mind. Post renovation it's all white trying to emulate a fine dine. While they have the decor right, just decor and raising prices does not a fine dine make. Food and serving have to move in tandem. Lovers of Pizzeria will surely shed a few tears.

Food: I had meaning to try the new avatar for a long time especially to try the new additions to the menu. The menu now is a combination of Pizzeria and Not Just Jazz by the Bay with it's lunch buffets.

Decided to skip the starters and directly hit the pizzas. Ordered the Bombay Masala (of course) and a Tangy Paneer Over the Edge pizza with has toppings all the way to the edge. The Bombay Masala quality has fallen even though it is superlative. The tangy paneer had no taste perhaps lack of salt in the ingredients. That was replaced by the Veg Supremo. Please avoid. We should have just ordered two Bombay Masala's.

Service: Given the place is always packed and you need to wait for a table, it's a nice touch offering lemonade to people whilst they wait.

The Tangy Paneer had no taste that typical of lack of salt. Asked the waiter to remedy it. He took it in insisted that the base was the same and salt is never added on top (of course) claiming the chef tasted it and it was fine. We could see that besides the piece we had taken the rest was intact so an obvious lie. He tried to explain away the lack of taste by claiming the vegetables made it so. Last I heard vegetables add and not take away from the taste. Guess he thought I've never eaten a pizza before or maybe just their special brand. After some back and forth the finally replaced and offered another pizza which was just a step better. All the back and forth resulted in the new pizza coming so late that it to totally killed our appetite.

Verdict: Just get the garlic bread and Bombay Masala. Given the staff attitude there is only so far the Bombay Masala and nostalgia will take it.

A fragrant slice of Mumbai!

The fragrance of their freshly baked pizzas and garlic bread are enough to make a passerby stop, drool and indulge! Over the last 15 years, I have been one of them.

Many memories attached to this place.. My very first outing here was as a 7th standard school kid with school buddies celebrating the completion of our exams. It was the first time we were out completely by ourselves (without any adult accompanying us). What an amazing feeling it was to sit by the sea, order our favourite pizzas and pay for it out of our pocket money! Back then, it was Rs. 120 for a 12 inch pizza!

But times change and so did the name, management, prices and so many other things connected to this place! Even my frequency of visiting here decreased. But the one thing which remains constant are their amazing pizzas and their all-time classic location by the sea which defines what Mumbai means to me!

5 star experience call the way

I've loved this place since the time I discovered it about 5 years ago. I go there almost every time I'm in town. They've recently done it up to create a brand new experience called The Pizzeria. The place now looks 100% more sexier. Their pizza variety tastes just the same. On my recent visit I had the Bombay Masala - this is my usual favorite and believe me I've even not tried any other pizza here. As an appetizer I had the Brocolli and Pinola salad. That was yum too.

Overall again my experience more or less remained the same and that's good. It's a must visit if you're in the area.

Miss the old touch the place had...

Been here before it was re-vamped.. The new interiors are pleasant to the eye on the first look but lack taste after a while. We had ordered a Caesars salad, rissotto Siciliana and Veg. Supremo Pizza. All were average and in no comparison to similar diners. Service was slow and we often had to call for attention. The staff were pleasant but am sure can improve. I would not call it a dining experience as there wasn't any thing I felt above the basic. The rate vs portion ratio is decent but again needs to improve. This may sound like criticism but please do improve as you have a fantastic location and the old touch needs to come back atleast in the food as it will be an expensive affair to change decor. All the best.

Without doubt, the worst restaurant I've been to. The waiter and staff were so so so rude. We ate there a couple of weeks ago. The waiter Santosh was so rude and disgusting. I asked him for water and drinks and he STARED and growled at me!! wow! didnt know that asking for water was such a big crime.
The food was ok, drinks were served with no ice, we kept begging them for water but no waiter would even bother to look.
I even included this in my comments at the end of the meal but am sure it never reached the management. SICK place, will ensure no one from my corporate/ family ever goes here. PATHETIC.

Great place and Delicious pizzas

Great place to enjoy some delicious pizzas. The restaurant has an amazing location just as the name goes its by the bay and has a great ambience. The food here is really good.A bit on the expensive side but the quality of the food is definitely up to the mark.
This place is a must try if your'e bored of domino's and pizza hut and want to try something really new .Me and my friends ordered a quad pizza which comes with four different pizza toppings in the same pizza. The pizza was really good probably the best I've had.Desserts here are okay .The blueberry cheesecake was nice but I've had better.I'll definitely recommend this place for pizzas. My only complaint is that the place is always full and chances are you'll have to wait a while before you get a table. Also the food takes some time but its worth the wait.

Worst experience ever !!!!!!

We have been visiting this place for almost 10 yrs now when it used be called "Pizzeria", however never had such a terrible experience at least with the staff.

After patiently waiting for one hour we were given a cramped table at one corner.

The guy at the counter was downright rude while denying us a comfortable table and so was the manager who refused to step out of the AC area to address our concern in the first place and was shameless enough to fool around with the waiter as we could see from the glass.

So much so that we had to enter the AC area after waiting for nearly 15 mins to speak with the manager "Gwendell" who was so called busy. Further more he acted as if he was favouring us by offering us a comfortable table. Frustrated we decided to leave that place for a much better option. A total disgrace in the name of Customer service, he was highly impolite, manner -less and least bothered abt his customer`s comfort which ideally shud be his first priority being in customer service industry and hence the face of the restaurant.

This guy, the manager needs an immediate beginners course in customer service that of course if the owner wishes to save the grace of his restaurant.

dissapointed

I visited pizza by the bay one busy day, i could understand they were packed but people with no reservations got a table before us. we began to order, we ordered a pizza, a few starters, a pesto pasta and a sparkle water drink. The pizzas and starters came but the pasta and the drink did not come. we waited an hour as we were hungry and could not waste time going to another restaurant. after this long wait we asked them how long the pasta would take, they said they dont make pesto pasta. After waiting for so long we were told that we were not going to get what we wanted. We were disgusted with the service and left that moment.

So sorry to hear you did not have a good service experience. When we renovated PBTB and designed the new menu we had nothing but the customer experience in mind. It is disappointing to hear that the service was not up to the mark and everything came out the wrong way. We certainly would like you to give us another chance. The only explanation I have – and please don’t take this as an excuse – is that the restaurant was brand new, packed and we were simply overwhelmed by the amount of guests. We are confident that today you would have a great experience. Again, our sincere apologize! Please give us a shout when you visit us again to make sure we take care of you.... and btw, of course we have Pesto :)

Great sea-facing Italian fare

This place has been here forever, and Ive always known it as Pizzeria, till they recently changed the name.
The last time I had been here I had tasted the thin crust pizzas and they were superb.
This weekend, I tasted the risotto, and it was superb again.
The food bug has infected it well enough, and the service is also decent. Just wish that for the non-AC section the prices could have been lowered. Its just too expensive for a regular night out.

Real Pizzas! Must have...

Don't have time to visit Italy or Europe for some real pizzas? No worries, Visit this place & you won't be disappointed.

The Pizzeria here has been serving the best pizzas since more than a decade.
Pastas are good too, but you cannot miss the pizzas here.
Service is good. Its a casual dining place with tables lined up a bit close but you wont mind that given the amazing food you will get to eat.

At Marine drive, this is the place to drop by for some fill.

Rotten pizzas

Had a terrible pizza with stale cheese. The cheese tasted really foul. The garlic bread was the saving grace.

Good pizza seriously?

Only thing going for this place is the location, the food however for a pizzaria outlet isn`t up to the mark. A pizza lover would prefer to go to another pizza chain else than come here because the service is slow. The drinks served are of extremely less quantity. The bOmbay masala and the chicken pizza are fairly average.

Food 1/5
Ambiance 3/5 (location)
Service 2/5
Price 3/5

but the food quality kills it not happy at all. really killed my expectations and good reviews i have heard.

In the night it can get horribly hot because of the warm sea breeze. There is no AC it being an open space.

Pizzeria,marine drive

We had the worst ever dining experience at Pizza by the Bay. I went there to dine with my husband on 5 Novemeber, 2011 around 9:15pm, the staff was not at all co-operative. We were given a table to sit with a soiled table cloth and food all over it. When we requested a senior person, a Mr. Akhilesh, we were told that the restaurant does not have any table cloths in stock and in order to change the table we would have to wait outside for another 25-30mins till another table vacated. We placed order for just one 12' India Supremo pizza which was served to us after 45mins without any seasonings on the table. When requested for seasonings the bottles of Oregano & pepprika were kept on our table after almost 5 mins. I would not recommend this restaurant to any one wishing to have a great dining experience with your beloved or your family. It would be an awful experience and leave a bad taste in your mouth

Best Pizza's in Mumbai if not the world!

Have been a regular here for years now and have loved almost each and every visit to this place .
Its located in a beautiful place overlooking the marine drive , the place is also well built with hugh enormous windows giving a almost outdoor experience.
The food is amazing , my favourates being the Tandoori Paneer Stuffed Crust and Veggies Lover (a vegetarian myself)
Pastas too are pretty nice , tasty and fresh .

Only thing i don't like about this place will be the cold drink (absolutely flat)

Personally try to avoid driving by this corner because of the smell of the place which makes me wanna eat all the time.

Thumbs up for Pizzeria AKA Pizza By the Bay

Dinner with a view

Visited this restaurant on a Saturday evening with 3 of my close friends. We were all in the mood to drink. So when we took our seats and had a look at the menu, we were a bit disappointed to see that they only serve beer outside. In order to have proper alcohol, you need to go to the inner section which is Not just Jazz by the Bay.. Anyways we were hungry as well, so we opted for the Farmyard Pizza (Veg), which was quite thin and did not really suffice for the 4 of us. We did not feel it was worth the price (Rs 390). We had also ordered a side of Barbecue Chicken Wings and Garlic Bread which was quite good. The mocktails were pretty ordinary, especially the virgin pinacolada which tasted like diluted lassi!

So summarizing, the taste of the food was good although a tad overpriced. (I guess they charge for the view of Marine Drive!) Mocktails can be given a miss.

why did they mix up pizzeria and jazz by the bay

Initially they had some excellent pizza, pastas fun, karaoke and excellent brunch menus. Just another place to eat Bombay Masala pizza, although one thing that remains amazing is the pesto pasta and for people who like spicy food the arabiatta with extra green chillies. If you know the food menu well, you are sure to enjoy the food.

Truely a landmark !!!

I went there with my Girlfriend for a casual day out on a weekend , although it was arround 5 in the evening we had to wait, but I am sure was worth it.
The staff was averagely friendly and helpful but suprisingly the service was pretty decent.

For the rating
AMBIANCE: 4/5 {Ideal for lunch, dinner, or even a meal, gives a decent view of marine drive, apart from the frequent mental Honking}
FOOD: 5/5 (We had a Veggie delight with stuffed cheese crust costing 320 rs but is baked to perfection far better than other pizza joints in the city and totally worth it)
DRINKS: 3/5 (Not a wide choice but i feel drinks are a bit overpriced)
VALUE FOR MONEY: 4/5 good joint for a nice easy Sunday or any other day for that matter. WORTH THE TRY!!! Damages done: Rs 650 for an 8 Inch pizza, a Mug of beer and a mocktail +2 priceless hours

Best In Karaoke

Have been to this place plenty of times and have not only sang my heart out but have also met wonderful people who love to sing and the credit for all this goes to the hosts who make the place come alive (Roland, Shiesh, Vazil, Savio, Shivam and Varun) to name a few.

Each host has his own way of cheering up the crowd and make the night a fun time to remember for eg : Roland uses his voice to make people come up and sing more and more, Vazil with his charm makes people sing, Shiesh with his funny one liners and sense of humor not only makes people feel at home but also makes sure they have a smile on their face at all times.

These hosts sing their trademark songs and when you listen to them sing it you just cant stop but sing with them. For e.g. when Roland sings Pretty Woman. I' m sure there is not a single girl he must be not looking at and sing and maintains an eye contact with each one of them which is a good sign of a good host . Vazil has a heavy voice and sings 'Someday'. It really feels like you are sitting and listening to a professional singer and do not want to stop listening. Shiesh with his songs not only keeps the guests glued to their seats but also makes them dance and sing along. It may be very easy for anyone to go up on stage sing, but to host in a manner like this, I'd applaud for them.

My suggestions to all the karaoke lovers would be that if you are really looking forward to some singing, then this is the place to be , i have been to a lot of other places including the likes of WTF , Soul Fry and Big daddies which maybe good but have drawbacks too. WTF : too loud , Soul Fry : too crowded to get your song , Big Daddies : too far. Also the crowd attracted is cheap. The host is arrogant and has an air about himself.

The karaoke happens for 5 days a week. The timings for it are just perfect and in time for you to wake up for your schedule the next morning.

Karaoke -Thumbs Down

Considering I'm a college student and a major karaoke fan, Pizza by the Bay was an easy get away for a night of fun. The first few times were pretty decent (back when it was called Jazz by the bay), but as the visits got more frequent I began to realise how I was wasting an insane amount of money here. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights are reserved for karaoke(10pm onwards).

First of all, they charge an entry fee of INR100 (not cover, and even if it was, there's no chance in hell you'll get anything in there for that price). Everything on the menu is crazily priced. Don't let the INR175 for a pint of beer fool you. When you actually go to pay for it, you end up shelling out around INR220 for the pint. A pitcher costs INR575 without taxes.

Additionally, the quality of karaoke is extremely poor and the collection is terrible. I still get cheesed off when I'm happily crooning away to Annie's song and I see a couple of bikini clad women on the big screen wooing some bare-chested men. Poor old John Denver.

Some songs, either the pace is too fast, the timing is totally off or they just do not sound right. Compared to other places I've been to for karaoke, this is probably the worst.

The host-Sheish can get on your nerves with his bias towards people he knows. Oh not to forget the way he murders Frank Sinatra's rendition of 'My Way'. Among the other casualties are Shaggy's 'Angel' and Louis Armstrong's 'What a wonderful world'. If you've been there at least twice or thrice, you know what songs the host are going to sing.

It usually gets extremely crowded at times which means that you will not get to sing too many songs. Yet, Sheish somehow always ends up singing at least a quarter dozen songs. therefore, the INR 100 you spent to enter and the insane amount you're spending on food and booze is totally futile.

To make matters worse, the place shuts down at 1 am. Karaoke starts off only by 10-10.30 depending on the convenience of the management. Additionally, there are two breaks where the DJ spins a few tracks. This means that Karaoke is eventually just 2 hours which is just not good enough especially when they charge an entry fee of INR 100.

There have been times when we(our table) has sat for at least 60 minutes without getting our request played while other tables have had 2-3 requests in between which is usually due to the camaraderie of the host and the guests.

The food may be decent but the price of stuff is just not justified. In my opinion, Pizza by the Bay isn't that great a place to visit. There are quite a few joints now in Mumbai with much better (cheaper and longer) karaoke nights than this one.

Pizza + Beer = Awesome combination

Went to the Taraporewala Aquarium with family and kids and then decided to have dinner at Pizza by the bay.

In starters we order one paprika potatoes and one garlic cheese bread both of which were good. For the Main course we ordered one penne arrabiata, one tangy paneer pizza and one bombay masala pizza.

The paneer tangy pizza serves 3. To was down all of this we called for one chocolate milk shake, one fresh lime soda, one diet pepsi and 3 mugs of drought beer.

Total damage to the wallet was Rs.2000/-. Overall had a good experience.

Pizzeria used to be one of my favourite restaurants but since the name has changed it has literally gone to the dogs. The quality has gone down to such levels that u feel sick the next day. Do not ask for home delivery. The food sent will be stale, cold and soggy despite repeated reminders about the last time's bad quality. Although the manager is very cooperative when complained to about the quality. Hoping they imrpove or it will be just another case of an iconic restaurant in south bombay shutting down!

Food Pricing: 3/5

Not only have you disappointed me by changing the name of this place, but the service has just gotten worse. Guys, buckle up. Really. It's sad to know that you'll are going downhill from where you guys once were. The pizzas and pastas are just a rip off. Try doing somehting to enhance your variation. The pricing is strictly poor. I can understand if the ambience was classy and distinguished, unfortunately it isn't and chanrging your customers that high, not a brilliant idea. We had to wait 25 - 30 minutes to get what we ordered. Your waiter couldn't understand English (Please teach them/recruit english speaking staff) and neither was he helpful at suggestions. The quantity was alright although the variation or enhancing the menu in any way could have scored you an extra point in quality. Pull up your socks. There's cut-throat competition in this cuisine. If you're not excelling, you will disappear. Cheers!

Probably never again :/

Friday night dinner here! NEVER AGAIN! Service is extremely slow, even when the place isn't relatively full..Only options for drinks are beer, Indian Wine and the usual Pepsi, iced tea et al. Its time they started considering having a few cocktails on the menu.We ordered a white sauce pasta & Barbecue Chicken Pizza..The Pasta had no salt & was extremely bland. We had to use a heavy dose of salt, pepper, oregano & to make it edible. And then comes the Pizza. Its an irony when a place which is called Pizza by the bay, serves horrid pizza!! Extremely oily & greasy, so much so, that I wished I would have gone to Dominoes!!
And if you think I'm exaggerating, my friend, who dined along with me, also started getting a sick feeling in her stomach, like me after the atrocious food..
Finally after a scoop of Tiramisu ice-cream at Baskin & Robbins, I vowed I wouldn't go back there again. Unless 1 day, I'm craving a really greasy pizza.

Ups And Downs

Ended up at The Pizzeria at Churchgate yesterday for an awesome dinner, which makes this place the only one where in the experience is alternately brilliant and piss poor (maybe it depends on who i'm going with as well). While there was a table available as soon as we walked in, we decided to wait 15 minutes for one with a better view (read: the table available was right next to the entrance/exit).

Kickstarted the meal with 'Paprika Potatoes' (wedges, but crisper and tastier, served with cabbage/carrot and a weird pink dip) and Ice Teas (bleh). After waiting an eternity to order the main course, i finally got an A-list delish 8" stuffed crust meat pizza, a veg pizza called Bombay Masala (which looked like pav bhaji on pizza bread, but i don't know what it tasted like - my friends were raving about it though) and Spaghetti Mariana (cheesy white sauce, sprinkled with black olives - satisfying comfort) some 15 minutes later.

The food was secondary to the conversation, and i didn't mind it a bit, while service was abysmally poor.

The place is at Marine Drive, and the location is the only thing that would take you to the place for the second time. The food is really not worth it. The pizzas, the pastas or the cocktails, none of it tasted great. But it is only for the place and the ambiance that I have visited the restaurant twice until now. I'd say you might as well to carry your pizzas from a Pizza hut and sit on marine drive to enjoy the same.

I had a totally different view about this place..

I thought they offer good and quality food
I had a Bombay Masala pizza which was cost me Rs 265 for an 8 inch pizza.
However it was not even a penny worth.
about it as to charge so much for an 8 inch pizza
Firstly the dough didnt seem fresh as they claim, nothing great at all about the pizzas here which are double the price than usual.

I wouldn't want to waste my money on something like this.

Perfect Pizzas

I have been to Pizzeria a number of times till date. Their wood fired pizzas never disappoint me. The sea-facing location is a big boon for enjoying a casual snack or meal. It’s far from perfect though, I feel their round tables are kind of small, struggles to accommodate my relatively large order. Their plastic chairs are a letdown; the seat tends to cut loose from the legs. Their café style ambience is wonderful, but lack of air-conditioning is ill suited to Mumbai’s tropical climate. I would have criticised The Pizzeria’s close seating, but keeping in mind Mumbai’s lack of space, it’s completely pardonable. I really like their extensive menu which offers a wide range of pizzas, pastas and gnocchi. I decided to have pizzas for dinner and headed out to The Pizzeria.

For drinks ordered Pepsi, it lacked fizz, was a tad flat. The first pizza I ordered was classified under International Favourites, ‘Pizza Mista’, was fairly loaded with ham, bacon and salami; pizza base was perfectly baked, sauce paired up well with the meat. Tried one of their Quad pizzas – ‘Combo’, had a different topping in each quarter; prawns in pesto sauce were gorgeously cooked to perfection, tandoori chicken sausage could do with more marination time, barbeque chicken hit the sweet spot, oriental fish had a lip-smacking Indian Chinese punch to it. Zeroed in on a stuffed crust pizza – ‘Meat Ultimo’, had a fat outercrust which was surprisingly crunchy; the toppings were truly meaty and ultimate; juicy cold cuts of sausages, pepperoni and spicy pork were in two words - simply divine. Lastly, ordered an Over The Edge pizza, ‘Chef’s Special’, awesome thin crusty base topped with subtly diverse pieces of charcoaled chicken successfully seduced my palate to a large extent; a great combination on the whole.

The Pizzeria is so much better than the run of the mill, Domino’s. Their cheese is stringy, toppings are very generous, recipes are well formulated and service is fast & efficient too. Food is moderately priced, Pepsi – Rs.60, Chef’s Special Pizza 12’ – Rs. 430, Pizza Mista 8’ – Rs. 290. I have never had a bad meal at The Pizzeria, consistently on the money, always. I am on course to give five stars, it lacks something very important in tropical country restaurants – air conditioning, so Four Stars overall.

And their All American Pizza is just the best! Only the thought of it makes me drool. The pizza sauce they use and the quality of the pepperoni is so superior! The pasta is also delicious. This place can never ever disappoint u. So go right ahead, dont think twice. Happy Binging!!

The pasta here are tossed in the best sauce, so rich-flavored with delicious combination of spices and seasonings. The thin crust pizzas will just make you go "hmmmm...". Great bread, great sauce, great cheese, large variety of toppings.

Ordered the famous Bombay Masala pizza (thin crust), and the Italian Veggie Fiesta (in their "Over the Edge" section) both of which were excellent, and highly recommended!

I have been going to the Pizzeria since my childhood, and i adore the place. It is a tad too expensive, but really good. I would rather spend more here than go to Dominoes/Pizza Hut/etc...

great pasta but not the pizza

The pasta of this place is really yummy but the pizza was a little disappointing. We were seated quickly and the food was also served fairly quickly but the waiter took ages to get the check.

Very very bad food @ Lunch hours!

I went for a brunch with my friends on Monday afternoon. I ordered my favorite Tandoori paneer pizza with stuffed crust and veg delight. But to my surprise Tandoori paneer pizza did not look like the one i would order always. On inquiring, I was informed that it was a different chef this time. Nevertheless, i got one pizza parceled for my husband too. WAfter about half and hour, I started to suffer from a severe stomach ache. I gave the parceled pizza to my husband and did not care much about the stomach ache. I got back home only to find my husband suffering from it too. On being diagnosed, we realized the pizza was stale. I was surprised that pizzeria would serve left overs.

Thou art my love!

Located on the junction of the road, parallel to Intercontinental Hotel, this joint is engraved on the end of the road itself. You should always select the table that is adjacent to the window, so that breeze can get the better of your locks and and the wind can soothe your whole dining experience while you're thoroughly engrossed in enjoying every bit of what the pizza offers you. This is perhaps the only place i love eating Pizzas from. Thin crisp crust with just the apt amount of cheese flowing from the Pizza, which definitely makes wonder sight to all the foodies who love to relish each morsel of their food. Even after being a staunch non-vegetarian, I still prefer the Vegetarian pizzas to the Non vegetarian, I always feel the former make better pizzas than the latter, but here even the latter one has a different story to tell. The menu has a variety of pizzas ranging from different sorts to suit your needs and preferences. Any pizza you choose, it's definitely a refreshing break from the stereotype ones.
There's even pasta offered, which is again excellently prepared, but the only shortfall being the quantity. The quantity of the pasta that is served is extremely small and can get over in a single helping if there are just the two of you. But still, it's worth the penny you pay. Another downfall being the service, it's not exactly prompt, you have to signal the waiter several times to re-order or get your glasses refilled again. It's perpetually crowded and being one of the oldest, is one of the signature eateries in South Mumbai. One of the very very few eateries which have such a beautiful view overlooking while you enjoy your meal. Highly recommended,if you're slightly patient enough, be rest assured, the food would fill the void in the service.

And the decline begins

The table and chairs and the ambiance remains the same but the place has lost the charm it used to have. I guess it is due to poor service quality. Was there for lunch with a couple of colleagues and was disappointed at the service.

The tables were not getting cleaned frequently. The knowledge level of the staff was poor and if i could i would rate them a 0 on hospitality.

It has now become just another cafe.

Legacy continues, this place is fantastic !

I have been here a numbern of times. Thankfully the quality is maintained since I started going here since 2006.

Today we had Salad(dnt remember the name), Paprikaa Potato, Italian Veg Fiesta, Fresh Lime Soda, Blue Berry Cheese Cake and Apple Pie with Ice Cream.

Everything was good, but the most delicious thing was the Pizza. Thin, crunchy and very very well made.

Total damage around 1200 bucks. Slightly on the higher side, but considering the location and overall ambiance, its quite worth it.

The only little drawback were the waiters, they seem to be in a mad hurry to take orders and serve the food. If they could get a little bit of training on "how to smile and be courteous", this place would be perfect!

Nevertheless go for the food and the ambiance/location ! You will love it !

Consistently good

Pizzeria is one place you will not be disappointed with. It famous for it's Bombay Masala pizza though sometimes the quality of its flavour can vary. It's very well located. Non air conditioned but yet you will not feel the heat. Sit by the window and watch the busy world go by.

And now to the food.
If you like pizzas try the Bombay Masala. For the pastas lovers the Veg Alfresco is something worth dipping your taste buds into. Whatever you eat, do not miss the peach iced tea. They serve beer too.

The place is a bit overpriced I felt.

Overall 7.5 / 10

Enjoy.

Love it!!!!!!!!

How much i love this place. I have been here so many times that I don't have a count anymore. I just love the ambiance. They have lovely little checkered tables with a view overlooking the Arabian sea, although on weekends at lunch/dinner time it could be a task to get a table of your preference..
The service varies since there were times when the service was polite and charming and then there were others when we were like some furniture to them. It took us an almost 15 mins to get a menu card.
But the pizza's totally makes it up for it. Chef's Special, Bombay Masala, Meat Ultimo are all worth a try.

I have such fond memories of this place. I used to come here ever since my school days, and till date it's a favourite hangout.

And the waiters always know our order. Do not forget to have the Bombay Masala here. It's just out of this world.

Somehow whenever you come here you feel at home since the staff is really warm and sweet.

Gr8 Place in the Monsoons !!

The pizzeria is just fantastic during the monsoon. Happened to be there the other day when it was raining cats and dogs. Packed as usual around 9 pm. Been a regular since it has started. Nothing has changed. The quality is as good as it was, the decor is the same but was disappointed with the service. Maybe the rains might have made the service a bit lazy!! Anyways beer to start with, followed with the Caesar salad (AVOID), and jalapeño with cheese (V.Good). The pizzas were a topping of jalapeño again and the other one was with paneer. Ended the meal with apple pie with ice cream. Overall it was good. Price: Expensive

Too much Hype?

After reading much about pizzeria and after hearing about it from my friends, I decided to go all the way to Marine Drive to try it out.

Location was just PERFECT. What more do you want when the restaurant overlooks the Arabian sea and the cool breeze keeps moving around. However I presume parking could be problem here (dont know coz i did not take my car).

We didnt have to wait for the table as we stepped in relatively early (8PM) on a weekday. Grabbed a table of 4 (converted to 5) overlooking the sea. The crowd in was great full of youngsters and full of life.

We did not order for drinks. Beer was a little on the costlier side. We ordered for an Arabiata pasta which was good to taste. Along with it we had also called for Garlic Bread with cheese.
We ordered half of a paneer pizza with half of a Bombay Masala. The pizza took a good more than half of hour to arrive. It wasn't that great. There are better pizzas available in Mumbai. Wasn't that bad either - but not worth the hype created. The pastas were good!

Service was a little unsatifactory. We had to ask for water 4 times until it was finally served.

Total Damage for 5 ppl Rs. 730 - 1 pasta, 1 cheeze garlic bread and 1 12" pizza

Pizzeria - Pizza & Pasta by the Bay....

For all of the four years that I've been in Mumbai, I've been passing By Pizzeria and Jazz by the Bay, whiffing the delicious smell of freshly baked pizzas and vowing to go there for dinner at the earliest. After a four year wait, I met Pizzeria and Pizzeria met me!

Here's what I think about the place, ambiance, food, music, crowd and pricing-

Drinks:
We were four of us, Uncle, aunty, my cousin and me. Each of us ordered a drink - one fresh lime soda(Rs. 45), one coke(Rs. 40), two mocktails of Rs. 85/- each viz. Bahama Mama ( Guava, mint and orange juice) and Alice in Wonderland (Cranberry nectar, pineapple juice and watermelon syrup). A comment on fresh lime soda and coke isn't necessary. But the mocktails were quite good, especially the Bahama Mama (ahem..ahem...my choice!). The Guava and mint, both strong flavours, contrasted beautifully to create this memorable mocktail. Alice in the Wonderland was on the sweeter side and I left a sweet after taste. There are just four other mocktails to choose from, luckily, each carry a description of ingredients, so make your choice wisely!

Pasta:
We ordered one Pasta (Pasta Alla Pizzeria containing chicken, bell peppers, sun dried tomatoes in a creamy tomato sauce - Rs. 275/-) .We contemplated ordering another medium size pizza, but the two main course dishes sufficed. The pasta was tasteful, with the right amount of spice and sauce while the sun-dried tomatoes created a delicious burst in the mouth. The quantity was meagre, but the taste made up for it!

Pizza:
The 12" Large Pizza (Super Supreme - Rs. 485/-) took about 45 minutes to bake and serve. The wait was killing especially when the slight wind was whooshing into our ears amidst the soft music and quite a bit of chatter. The sights and smells furthered the hunger. The pizza was cut into 8 pieces and each of us enjoyed 2 pieces each. It had all my favourite toppings- sausage, chicken, onion, capsicum, mushroom, pineapple and extra topping of olives. I thoroughly enjoyed how the texture and taste of tangy olives, succulent mushrooms & sausage and the oddity of pineapple sweetness played with my sense of taste. I was the only one who enjoyed the pineapple topping, hence the good fortune of more flavour play in every bite of mine! I'd have liked another slice, but gulping down a glass of water I realized that the two P's were rather filling. There is ample choice in Pizza especially with make-your-own-topping being the most popular. However, one drawback is the non-interchangeability of pizza base. Suppose Meat Ultimo Pizza (pepperoni, sausage, pork, Italian herbs and seasoning) is available as a topping on stuffed crust. I prefer a basic crust and request the staff to swap the stuffed crust for a basic one while keeping the Meat Ultimo topping. Instead of allowing such whims of the customers, the staff refuses to do so. The only reason I could think us was that certain base maybe suitable for certain topping. But then again I suppose this drawback costs them big cash!

Dessert:
OK. I firmly believe that my stomach has compartments for every kind of food. In my case, the one for the dessert seems to be the largest! We ordered brownie with ice cream (Rs. 95) and Apple pie with ice cream (Rs. 95). The brownie was too dry, maybe even stale. The apple pie had too much cardamom and tasted better without ice cream. So I'd suggest ordering an apple pie or better still heading to Baskin Robbins, Naturals or K. Rustoms for dessert.

Pricing:
The total bill was Rs. 1200/- inclusive of taxes. It works out to Rs. 400/- per person (drinks, main course and dessert). For a killer view it offers, and the fabulous food, it is totally worth-it!

Seating:
The seating space is ample with round tables for 2, 4, 6 or 8 people. The table tops are hassle free with green/red check table cloth sealed between the transparent plastic tables tops and hence the stain free maintenance. Each table overlooking the street certainly has a better view of the Bay. In rush hour, the crowds are crazy and hence a reservation is advisable. We had to wait for nearly 1-hour as opposed to the no more 30-minutes wait that we the staff promised. If possible as for a table over-looking the Arabian sea for the sheer view, breeze and joy that comes with it.

Service:
The staff is jovial and well versed with the menu. They help you with the quantity to order and the pasta/pizza to suit your palette. But in the peak-hours, the staff does not respond to the calls of the customers or delays the same. Further, the pizza takes too long to be baked and served. The taste is authentic, but a shorter wait will only please the hungry customers. Also, they insist on you filling out the feedback form. I filled it up, in slightly excess details, but it was only for their betterment.

Crowd:
The crowd is mostly young. But it is a total family place and you'll also find several large and small families enjoying the dinner and the view. If you do not enjoy noisy places, or chaotic places, give Pizzeria a miss on weekends.

I've heard that they serve a delectable lunch buffet. They also serve Gnocchi(Italian name for a variety of thick, soft noodle or dumpling served with varied toppings-wikigyan) and Risotto(rich and creamy, traditional Italian rice dish-wikigyan) So that's next on my agenda apart from stuffed crust pizza and Bahama Mama cocktail!

Good Food with a Good View

Any one who is from South Mumbai has surely made a visit to Pizzeria once in his lifetime. This is one place on Marine drive you cannot miss. Located right on the corner facing the sea. It serves excellent Pizzas and though it is not air conditioned outside, the atmosphere in there is always pleasant because of it sea facing location.

Their food is also great. It is largely frequented by college students from colleges in and around that area and you'll commonly come across large groups of students feasting on Pizzas. If you ever land up in this area and are in a mood for some Pizzas do stop by this place.

Fresh yet Stale.

If there was a 2.5 star rating on this website I would have used it for this review. While I don't agree with Pizzeria's style of Italian I have to say the restaurant is always full of buzz and life. The food is simple, not over complicated and gaudy. The pizza comes out nicely, I like the freshness that they offer. However the restaurant is a little stale when it comes to cooking style and their menu. Agreed, it is successful and surviving - which will draw in the masses. I guess their ketchup covered crust, while not authentic, is mildly appetizing. But for me the wood oven cooked pizza at Frangipani (in the Oberoi {I don't care if the name has changed}) is the best in town. Crisp, soft with the woody flavor of the oven.

Thats how pizza should be.

Recommendation(s) -

Great view, good food

The pastas at pizzeria are almost as good as the pizzas!! We ordered a simple Arabiatta and it was scrumptious.
The pizza I ordered, stuffed crust tandoori paneer, though, was disappointing. It was, basically, tasteless. Realised for the first time what too-much-of-cheese meant. But the garlic bread and everything else, was spot on.

Sunset viewing

I do not remember what i had here though whatever i did was quite delicious. My attraction to this place was its location. I have vague memories of savouring my food and enjoying the sunset. The waiters operate in the background and its as if two hands take the order and serve the food promptly.
The crowd is upper class youngsters - totally apathetic to the others making it even more attractive to the prospect of enjoying your meal alone The reason for being alone was i could not convince my friends to accompany such an expensive place.

I left being full, content and happy to view the sunset.

La meilleure pizza à Bombay

“Mesdames et Messieurs, ne cherchez pas plus loin les meilleurs pizzas à Mumbai”, Loose translation - Ladies and gentlemen, look no further for the finest pizza in Bombay.

Pizzeria, a simple name but that is what they are for – to serve the most delectable and scrumptious pizza. Pizza which is original and truly pizza – and not just toppings on a piece of puffed bread.

Having lived near the border of France and Italy for more than quarter of a year and having savored the finest of pizzas, I had missed this delicacy till the time I ate in this quaint little eatery with chic red and white chequered tables. The same crisp and cheese layered crust, and measly cheese just sprinkled on. The same flavor and the same Nostalgia..!!!

An ambience to die for ... you can relish your pizza watching sun set in the Arabian sea or catch the fast moving traffic on the Queen’s Necklace itself, feeling like a King yourself. They have soups, salad and sandwich lunch buffet @ 275Rs per person, but the real catch is the Pizza.

- Bombay Masala (It Rules)
- Chicken BBQ & Capsicum
- Four Seasons (Four equal quarters topped with Chicken, Corn, Paneer Tikka and Capsicum)
- Veggie Supreme.

The Chicken and Capsicum pizza could do with more color by having yellow and red bell pepper sprinkled along with the green ones :).

The above pizzas are to die for. The starters are good (but measly portions). The bread used in the Garlic bread as well as the Bruschetta (French bread sprinkled with cheese, tomatoes and basil) is oh..so..French in taste. Loved it .. But they should start serving the side dishes for Indian appetites and not French appetites.

The starters are prized between 65-125 Rs, the pasta and risottos start are prized between 200-270 and the main deal – The Pizza, between 350-480 Rs for a 12 inch (Large) one. A meal for two can safely cause a damage of around 600-700 Rs.

Waiting time (for a table) on a weekend can be about an hour after 9pm. The service is brisk, cheerful and helpful. Addressing the stewards by their names (as displayed on their badges) may gain you more attention and a smile than you would with an “Excuse Me”

The crowd is a fair sprinkle of the townie families, the wannabe city dudes and dudettes and the firang janta, who can’t get more out of their beer. The Indian-Firang ratio can be safely determined to be 70-30 in this peak tourist month of January.

The only flipside to this eatery can be – the lack of Tiramisu (No Italian meal is complete without this famous dessert cake) on the menu in the Desserts section and for the teetotalers like me, they serve only Ice Tea, Lime Soda and Pepsi (No Coke)

Overall, the best place to have VFM pizza in Bombay. I would end up my review with wishin you a good meal.

Bon àppetit.

Bombay Masala Pizza - the best

Virtually all the reviews of this place recommend the Bombay Masala pizza. So last night while working on the launch of burrp! Delhi, I thought what the heck, let me order the Bombay Masala pizza. I also requested them to add the Paneer and the American Corn toppings.

The delivery was quick as promised - within 30 mins flat. The pizza was hot. All of us here loved the taste. The Paneer topping was really fresh.

I don't know what else they serve, but would definitely recommend their Bombay Masala. Go for it folks, trust me you will love it.

Yup, this is the place to have pizzas if you are in Mumbai. The Bombay Masala is my personal favourite. Located along Marine Drive, the open format allows the sea breeze to create a great ambience. Good food, great place

This place has got a good collection of pastas. But if you are watching your weight, then this place is the devil for you. However, if it is some solace, the pastas are worth dying for, cheesy and creamy and well prepared with just the right amount of seasoning.
However, in recent times I have been noticing their serving portions are reducing. That prompts you to order more than you can eat. Which is why I said it can be hell for the weight watchers. But this place is worth a go. For the experience of overlooking the Marine Drive and the seas beyond, for the overhead ceiling fans whirring lazily, for the white and red chequered table cloths and the entire al fresco experience of eating, though this one has to be indoors, given Mumbai's climate.

Good, but not great!

I agree with the earlier reviewers that this place has good pizza's. They also have some other nice Italian dishes, but i have always opted for the Pizza. Still this time we noticed that they seemed to be skimping on the toppings and our pizza came with a few pieces of pepperoni scattered on the pie.

I guess this is something you should always watch out for when ordering home delivery from any establishment. Ask them to make your food with care and not just to get it out the door...

Bombay Masala rules!

By far my favourite Italian restaurant in the city especially for pizzas. Bombay Masala or just the Margarita Pizza are all simply fabulous. Not to forget the Jalapeno n Cheese Poppers along with some pasta - e - funghi. And all in a superb 'round-the-corner' ambience. Only thing missing is some air-con especially in the summers.
