Great Dhaba Experience !

Oye Punjabi at Kalyan is one of the best Dhaba i've been to.
The food is simply amazing and sumptuous !
Variety of options for both veg and non-veg guests Their stuffed parathas , kababs and chaas are must have.
The crowd visiting this place is also decent, making it a good option for outing with family and friends.
They have done up the place like a typical village from Punjab. The place is good for kids too !
All in all an Oye hye experience !

Pathetic Hospitality

I visited the joint on my way back from Nashik. My experience was very bad. There was a lot of crowd and the staff were inadequate to handle them. There was no one to guide. None of the staff was on the reception to let you know the waiting time and guide you to the waiting area. When requested to a few of the staff members drew a blank face, they were lost, they had no clue what to say and what to do, it was a total chaos. Ultimately i walked off without even drinking even a glass of water.

Worth a Visit!

A quaint little stop in the buzzing highway traffic from Mumbai to Nashik. Oye Punjabi is a sure getaway from all that's termed as "Pollution". A real taste of Punjabi food, with extra tadkas on request; brilliant services [given we entered at 11:30 pm and left at 12:30 even when their place shuts at 12, they accomodated for our convenience].
Worth a visit.....and ofcourse they do have a real well in that cute little corner.

Excellent food, pathetic service

We had gone there this Sunday with our family and we had to wait for 15 minutes for rotis to come. Finally we had to raise our voice only then we got rotis, the waiters behave as if they are doing a favor serving us the worst experience ever

Great Location, Food a downer

When we hear about a place called OYE Punjabi, we already start thinking of the mouth watering dishes.
But unfortunately for us the experience was bitter, we ordered almost 12 starters and only one was a smasher.
Most of it the marination was not well cooked at all.
The service was slow but the staff were very courteous and friendly.

But a cool nice place to chill with family or friends especially the terrace area

Punjabi cuisine at its best!!!

This has become a favourite dinner option for me since the last 2-3 months whenever i return from Nasik. Their Adraki Nimbu Soda is to die for.. And so is their Nimbu Chicken.. Not to forget their Hyderabadi and Dum Biryani... Mutton option is preferable compared to chicken.. And after all this, the dessert really had no place in the tummy.. Will try it next time.. planning to visit with family on 27th Jan for lunch.. A bit pricey, but after 3 hours of driving from Nasik city traffic and then the highway, this place is God send.. Certainly worth a try.. And do read the full menu till you have the food served.. worth a read...

Not a place for partying or celebrating

To celebrate my birthday I choose this place as it fit my budget after going through cost given in the menu card here. Unfortunately, I was shocked when I got there, the cost were very high and different from the one's listed here.

All beer cost were above Rs.220 and Vodka's were above Rs.450 (180ml)

However, the food here is best. We ordered Hyderabadi mutton,it was good in taste and same for Malai Chicken.

There is not much crowd here, since it is isolated from city and the shortcut road is worst.

The service here is good, however since it is not crowded you can expect this.

This place is fine to visit if you are coming from long journey or other state.

Please update or remove the menu card, since it is outdated.

Oye Fantastic!!

I was at Oye Punjabi (on my way back from Nashik) and my experience was just Fantastic!
The food is spectacular, specially the Hara Bhara Kebab (I highly recommend it) and the Aloo Chutney Roll is to die for.
I wish I knew about this place earlier... it is possibly the new "Pritam Da Dhabba" (that once was).

Thanks for a good time Oye!!

Hygienic, Well selected menu

I have visited Oye Punjabi a couple of times on my way back from Nasik and surprisingly find the lassi to be one of my all time favorites.
Do not leave without tasting the Neembu Murg and the Chicken paprika kebab. Yes it may sound like your last option to try... but you must give it a taste. Wont be left disappointed.
The staff are polite and the ambiance is a soothing one. Surely a visit for me again...

The most disappointing place I have come across in a while. The food is way below average - i mean how can you go wrong with a masala papad or with chhole!! Disastrous food with over the board prices. Its definitely not worth the prices but even if one is not concerned about the rates the food is horrible. Try at your own risk!!

Overrated - False reviews ?

Had a bad experience last evening and wanted to check out the past reviews and am totally flabbergasted at the 5 star reviews. Further inspection reveals that all five star reviews are first time reviewers with only one (ONE) review to their name. BURRP should seriously look into this. Anyway my review below.

Last evening, we were returning from Nashik to Mumbai and seeing the advertisements and the well lit and presentable place, decided to give this place a try.

At first glance the parking, lighting and ambience are very well done. We were seated on the top floor. We ordered some masala chaas and lassi. The lassi was quite sweet and the masala chaas was good. But beware the lassi is about 80 bucks and that is quite steep for a dhaba.

Since were doing a pit stop and not too hungry, we decided to have something light and ordered a biryani and some papads. The masala papad was very oily with shabby presentation on the masala garnish. Very badly done. The biryani was green....GREEN...had very little taste and the chicken seemed raw. Immediately after having it, i started developing a stomach upset which has not subsided even now.

Maybe i ordered the wrong set of dishes, but that was my experience. The service was mixed depending on the waiter - one was ok the other was bad.

Price 2/5
Ambience: 4/5
Food: 2/5

Totally avoidable - I think a lot of 5 star reviews below are fake and once again ask BURRP to look into weeding out fake reviews - else the concept of this website goes haywire.

Highway for my Paranthe

A group of 6 of us stopped here for breakfast on our way to Sula. It's quite easy to spot. Once you get out of Kalyan and reach Padga (you'll know if you keep your GPS on) it's on your right. You'll have to go a bit ahead, and take a U turn and you're in a large parking lot.

It's technically not a dhaba... so don't expect to be breakfasting with truckers. They've attempted to set up an old large Punjabi haveli, with rustic seating, old-style switches, large fans from high ceilings and life-like statues of Punjabi farmer folk. 5 stars for the ambience... even if a little amature... its fun & clean. We sat in the outdoor section. It wasn't crowded - just a couple of families.

The food:
We stopped for breakfast... and a Punjabi breakfast = Paranthe. We ordered all kinds - paneer, pyaaz, aloo, green peas, gobi, sugar. The paneer paratha & the sugar variety was outstanding. The rest were decent. The accompaniments (dal, dahi, pickle) were just about okay. The parathas are prices at about 80-100 Rs a plate. Tad expensive. There is a lot more variety in breakfast (eggs, puris, south indian fare). We rounded off the meal with chai & lassi, and we were a happy bunch. 3.5 for the food.

The garden next to the restaurant is lovely. Fun for photo-ops with a scarecrow and a little well.

Overall, it's fun for a visit. They apparently have live nights, so one could consider stopping for dinner on the way to Bombay.

Great Drive.......Great Food..........Great Drive

This place could be missed a few months back, but recently they have put up a huge board on the highway ..........Oye Punjabi - 22 km ahead., and that board itself makes you look out for this place. As soon as you approach this place when you moving towards Nashik, you might want to give it a skip as it is on the other side of the road. But once you take that effort of taking the U-turn, you end up stopping every time you pass it, be it on this side of the road or that.

Great Ambiance. I have tried this place at 2 different meal times as yet. Once for breakfast and once for late evening high tea. The breakfast was tasty. The paranthas were quite of a Punjabi flavour. We also had a chana Bathura, though the bathura was nice, the chana was a little raw. The ambiance though is out of comparison. Just awesome.

The next stop was a late evening high tea. And believe me I would say the morning atmosphere was awesome, the evening was even better, especially, if its drizziling, the breeze is blowing and you are sitting in their porch seating arrangement. They also have a indoor seating and a terrace as well. We ordered a Paneer Tikka and it was just awesome. melted in the mouth, white in colour and priceless. The amritsari pakodas, were worth the money too. The teas which I forgot to mention during breakfast as well, is pretty good and should not be missed. A little milky as some friends mentioned. I take their word as I am not very conversant with the perfect tea.

The service is extremely courteous and quick and it is a must try for all those who have an inherent "drive" for eating good food.

Taste of Punjab

Theplace we visited for late Lunch around 3.30Pm. It was not crowded at all. Decor is good, place is very good for famlily & when we asked waiter, they confirmed it serves Breakfast also which strarts at 7AM. Food once ordered takes time to arrive [15¬25 Min].
Taste of veg & non veg [ Chicken handi ,Dal Makhni, Palak Paneer] was good. Gravy`s are not too greasy . Washing it off with Chass/Lassi is great & it came with correct temprature.
For some thing sweet, we had Gulab Jamun[Avg] & Phirni [Above Avg]. Over all , worth to visit any time with family or as a highway stop.

Dont Pay ...get paid if you get there and order...

If your bored to death and want the way to the heart blocked .
This is also called Highway robbery ,since the place is on the highway and they rob your wallet and you hunger!!!!!!!
There is nothing remotely Punjabi about this place , it only serves average Chinese .............
The cook hasnt heard what Punjabi food is and the waiters havent read the menu to identify what can be served.....
you listen closely you will realize , that the place is LEGACY OF BRITISH unlike its name , as they will come back to you with “SORRY” every 2nd word is a Sorry (now that you realised we goofed up)......
Ask the manager at the counter to pay you ,since you got there !!!!!!!!

Good place

Been here last month, on my way back from Bhandardhara. The food is good, so is the service and ambiance. They are very hygienic and a great place to stopover.

Ambience: 4.0 / 5.0
Food: 4.5 / 5.0
Service: 3.5 / 5.0
Value for Money : 4.0 / 5.0
Overall Experience: 4.0 / 5.0

They have ample parking and the staff is very friendly. You must have the crisp roomali tawa roti in lieu of the masala papad. ( ask for the masala papad dressing). Food tastes real good and is good to eat after a long drive.

I recommend.. do visit!
