    We are not referring to Tax. Fluffy, please read carefully, we are referring to SERVICE CHARGE of 10% which is decided by the Restaurant Management. I thought this was unjustified given poor service. Also the rate of most of the items is way too expensive and certainly not VFM.

    The service in this place is outstanding, concerned and very responsive. An absolute delight. I was here last sunday, the occasion my friends second marriagr anniv. Travelled all the way from Malleshwaram with spouse and 7 months old kid hoping to finish fast and go home early. Everyone reached by 8 pm, five of us, and started with soups and starters. Great stuff. The woodstok platters, both veg and non veg are outstanding.     I cant figure out the incessant discussions on tax rates of various restaurants on this forum. The taxes are fixed by the govt both state and central. The rate of vat may further go up in the coming days as the budget announcements are round the corner. So could the service tax rates . All establishments are bound to collect these and then deposit the same to the concerned govt departments.

    As far as the service charge is concerned these depend on individual restaurants to decide, which i agree with another comment here has become a fashion!

    People in Bangalore and in particular the so called "In" crowd, really dont care about prices. That is the reason why places like Woodstock and sundry others are getting away with the kind of prices they are charging. While I agree that food prices have generally shot up and therefore there is no other way for restaurants to survive than increase the prices, these kind of places take it to ridiculous levels.

    For instance, one of the items on the menu here is Fried eggs. Now how much would an egg cost? 3 bucks? 5? Even if the damn thing is imported it should not cost more than this price    ... read more

    Been here yesterday. i sort of agree to the positive as well as negative reviews. Positive side, yes the varieties, ambiance and good retro music is very good. on the negative side high pricing on the menu plux taxes of whooping 27% (14% VAT, 3% service tax and 10% service charge) is too much for the kind of hotel it is. I would think 10 times to go back this place.

    Amazing food, warm service and great environment- sums up our experience at this place. A dinner with friends from office was great. The beef covered with bacon an absolute delight, soft tender and juicy, the sizzling creation left us askinf for more. The sea food platter ( also on a sizzler) was lovely. The one plus one was a plus too. The music videos playing on the tvs remind you of the golden eighties.
    The only thing amiss, the picture od Dev Anand in inkmark on the table mats do not match. Should be replaced by a hollywood star or singing legend of the West.

    You know, I don't really like going to a restaurant that steals like a huge amount for service charges (10%?) when isn't worth one tiny bit, I think it's like a new trend in Bangalore.
    Ambiance is good, seems like a house that's made into a restaurant.
    The menu looks good, they seem to have a lot of food on it but the pricing will outright disappoint you.

    The only thing good about it is the live music.

    This is perhaps the 1st time I am writing not so positive feedback about a Restaurant in Burrp.com. Being a sizzler freak, I was enthused to visit Woodstok, who were advertising their Sizzler festival on FM radio channels. However realized it was not worth undertaking a long journey to Woodstok from Jayanagar. First of all, the service quality is pathetic. My bad experience started at 12noon when I called up the Restaurant to book a table for the evening (25th Feb 7:30pm).     We were looking for steaks,and we found the best place in Bangalore. Woodstok, seems to have got it right on their steaks and sizzlers. The choice is quite varied, with almost every meat covered, the beef, pork,lamb chicken and seafood. It is heaven for meatlovers.
    The steaks came hot on sizzling platters - the sauces and marination on the steaks were perfect, the meats were well done to our specifications.
    The service was great . The music was better.
    The bar menu is fairly exhaustive with a fine selection of wines, which went well with the steaks.
