  • A Total Mess 2 days ago

The place is a huge mess , the place gets cramped up, noisy and disorganised on the weekends. It reminds me of village choupati Pathetic service. The items mentioned in the buffet got over quickly and I didn't find anything later :( got disappointed ;. However they have Pani puri, jal jeera, dosa's, jalebi's, paneer dishes, pav bhaji and the list is endless. You have dishes ranging from Gujarati, Punjabi and Rajasthani cuisines which will completely satisfy your appetite.

  • Worst manager possible Jan 20, 2013

Every thing about this restaurant is good except the manager who spoiled the mood after just we asked for the bill..

Visit this restaurant only if the manager is changed otherwise who knows when he will start abusing or man handling you when you just ask for the bill.
    Complete mood spoiler this manager.

  • Great fun, Average food. Dec 26, 2012

    1. Is it easy to find - Very easy since it is located in a mall, you can't miss it :)
    2. Atmosphere - Excellent! As the name suggests, you actually feel like you are in a village! the place is decorated with real life places such as a jail, tailor's shop, cart wheel .... It also has a puppet shot and typical gujarati garbas. If you are with a wide group, three hours of fun assured !
    3. Menu - The place offers a buffet only and does not serve anything "a la carte"
It has everythin ranging from street chats, punjabi, rajesthani, south indian to golas!
    4. My Order - I tried pretty

i went there yesterday with my wife...it is the worst place to have buffet...there is nothing indeed to say good about this shack...its shabby...to the core...they charge before you step in...i was wondering m i entering in a club or what...well they have a so called dance floor...which is funny...you will find all sorts of families dancing dandiya or playing musical chairs...right in the centre...making it impossible to walk for others...toilets are breathtakingly smelly and slippery...i actually sliped...food is aweful and ekdum thanda...

i find no reason to go here again...

  • Poor food, Ruffian staff, Badly managed - Pathetic Dec 03, 2012

If you like getting humiliated, embarrassed, disappointed after having paid through your nose then please feel free to visit this Village.

The place is manned by morons who have ZERO sense of what customer satisfaction means. Without even trying too hard, they are guaranteed to make you feel like a complete idiot for having come into this Village.

My disappointment started the minute I entered the place - you are required to pay upfront. They even charge for toddlers (200 Rs each). Two 4 year olds in our 9 member group were charged despite we trying to explain to the moron manni

If you are looking for a way to spend three good hours, head to the village at J.P. Nagar Central! The ambience of the place is an instant mood lifter. You like the place right at the doorstep.
I had lunch there on a monday afternoon with a bunch of my girl friends and it was easily one of the best times we've had.
The buffet has been spread out in an interesting way- there is a panipuri and chaat counter (kachori chaat was yum!) ; an ice gola station; a dal batti churma rickshaw (yes, rickshaw) ; a tandoor jail and your regular food spread. The main USP of The Village is that it offers

  • Fun and Food Oct 11, 2012

My suggestion for this place would be: Go with a group of friends. We were a group of 13 people. The games are fun.But the day we went the place was over crowded. We missed out on some games. The air conditioning was not sufficient, we had to take a break from the games or dancing every 5 min to stand under the fans or in front of the ac to cool off.Food is not mind blowing, can be considered little above average though. The fact was we were too tired to eat. The Golas, tea and the buttermilk are very refreshing. I felt the buffet closes soon, after the games and dances get over v hardly get half... read more

  • Average Place For A High Price (Worst Main Course) Sep 10, 2012

We have been to this place twice .....
First on a weekday and next on weekend ...
Weekday was fine as footfalls were less and people could enjoy some dance & music... Food was average .. Staters specially CHATS and pakoras were good. But the main course was worst ..we got to eat TORAI Ki subjzi & noodle which was overboiled.

Next time we went there on weekend ... The Place was highly crowded .. No place to stand ... Anyway i was hungry .. went to have my dinner ....Again staters were fine .... But when i came back for Main Course .... It came down from WORST To WORSEN .... AGAIN

  • Not just a regular hotel :Something different Sep 01, 2012

Costed me Rs 350 on a saturday.Has Chats ranging from panipuri sevpuri dahi puri,
paapdi chat, with jaljeera drink. Thats the prestarters.
The actual starters are after this which include the same cucumbers, tomato, papad and regular starters. Alongwith this is garma garam pakode with some awesome chutney.
Next we can start with either south indian dosa or get started with main course: roti,naan..all prepared hot. Sabzees are too many to list here( all served super hot).
Theres Pav bhaaji too. To end so many things there are hot hot jalebis, jamun, golaas(NO kala khatta),ice cream(vanil

  • More HYPE than quality FOOD Aug 03, 2012

Okay. Weekends can be chaotic in some public places: like shopping malls, cinema theatres, railway stations, etc.

But when it comes to food, i don't mind waiting a bit (in case i didn't have any prior reservation). What i find difficult to digest is that i pay for a service in a restaurant that is expected to be of a certain standard and I end up walking around like a refugee fighting for food amongst a big crowd! That's exactly what happened here.

Total chaos! The food quality was average but we were dying to get out of there asap.
