Favorite Italian Eat Out

Lil Italy has been around for a while and is one of the nicest places for vegetarians and those who love Italian cuisine. The ambience is decent and is not hard on your pocket. An average of Rs.800-Rs.1000/- for two, per meal. I guess that's acceptable as per Bangalore standards.

Little satiety at Little Italy

After trying most of the Italian places in Bangalore, Little Italy had been the worst experience. Before going to the place I called them to book a table for me and they said that they do not take reservation for any time beyound 8 in the evening on weekends. With this reply, I started wondering the whole point of reserving a table on a weekend in bangalore when most places are so crowded.
After reaching the places, the waiter settled us in corner in the lounge even after specifying that we want a place in the open. On request, after about 10-15 mins we were moved to another place. Let me thank them for that!!! The new place had too many mosquitos and ants. So you might as well be sharing your food with them.
The food was just not good...too creamy and saucy specially the pasta and pizza. Pizza had very little veggies and more of cheese and it took them a pretty long time to serve the order. Another thing that we order was a juice called 'Zip Zip' which was a mix of watermelon and litch and it was too sweet with no flavour of litch.
Let me also comment on the staff which seem quite unco-operative since they were too busy to take the orders or to be there to help you with your queries on the menu. Another problem was that the waiter at the table kept changing so there seemed to be complete lack of responsibilty. As a customer I did not know whom to check on the status of my order.
And, last but not the least, the loo was just not good. The pathway to it was horrible and most of the basics like tissue paper etc were just stuffed in the switch boards rather than having a rack/shelf for them.
The place is absolutely no value for money....The services are very poor compared to what they charge.

Italian food - magnifico

I've always had a good experience at Little Italy - maybe because I like Italian food, or maybe I was just plain lucky. However I have heard of a waning of the quality there: my friend reported that in the ground floor indoor seating area, there were little cockroaches running all over the sofas!

That apart, the food has always been good, from the antipasti to the entrees all the way to the desserts. Service is quick and the waiters thankfully know about the food being served. The pizzas are simply divine and the pastas are superb. The only drawback (if you can call it that, and I don't) - it's all veg! But hey, I can assure you, you won't miss the non-veg part one bit here. A sore point to note is that the toilet on the outside (they have 2, one outside and one inside), I've been told on good authority, is pathetic and they'd do well to get it in good shape ASAP.

All in all, great food, great ambiance and though a bit pricey, you'll certainly enjoy the meal if you like Italian food.

VEGGIE

Maybe it was the veggieness, or maybe the fact that i'm just not a pasta-salad type but i didn't like the place and would go back....

Good food, good ambience

I've been to Little Italys in several cities, and this one is near the top of the list.
The food is quite good, especially the appetizers like Bruchetta. The entrees are very good too, though the variety leaves a little bit to be desired. The menus have not changed in a while.
Parking, as anywhere else in Bangalore, is non-existent. Cars need to park on the footpath, so you're always wondering if it's going to be towed away while you tuck into your entree.
