Excellent north Indian food

Bombay Post is located in Carlton Towers, opposite Diamond District on the old Airport road, next to Indi Joe and TGIF. Bombay Post has an excellent assortment of north Indian dishes that would certainly leave you satisfied and put a smile on your face at the end of your meal.

The karara palak chat is a starter that everyone MUST have when there. The chicken and fish starters are also very good. The food for the main course tastes great, with sufficient choices available for veggies and non-veggies alike. The ambiance inside is wonderful, the service is prompt (unless there's a large crowd, then it's like any other place), the waiters are friendly and helpful, and although the price may seem to pinch a bit when you order the food, once you taste it and devour the food, you won't mind paying what you do at the end of your meal. One of the better BJN restaurants in the city. I still don't know why I'm not giving it a 5 on 5, but let's leave it at 4 for the time being :)

Great Stuff!

Rarely do I give 5 stars to any joint. But I must give a 5 to this one! I have been here about a dozen times. Never has a bad experience. Only time I got angry was when I had to wait for a long time to get in. They can't help that anyway.

Well, they've tried a bollywood in colonial raj theme for the decor, walls and menu but I think it falls flat. It's not pathetic but not great either.

I met my (then) prospective in-laws here for the first time. I'm not sure, but I think whenever I goofed up answering something, I passed on the fish fry and prawns to them. The tasty dishes were distracting enough. :)

On a serious note, I must say that the food here, rocks! Consistency is their hallmark! Anything Mutton or fish here, tastes great. I just love the mutton biriyani. A meal for two minus drinks will come to Rs600+

Service is good. Music is usually old instrumental Hindi numbers, which is true to the theme.

The man at the door resembles Shikari Shambu (but doesn't look like he'll goof up easily) :). He always smiles, which is a good thing.

The place gets real busy on weekends, so it might be a great idea to book in advance if you want to be here. Now this also happens to be wifey's favorite joint. So I guess there is a positive bias here.

This makes me want to be posted at Bombay (this doesn't mean anything!)

peace.
