Rarely do I give 5 stars to any joint. But I must give a 5 to this one! I have been here about a dozen times. Never has a bad experience. Only time I got angry was when I had to wait for a long time to get in. They can't help that anyway.
Well, they've tried a bollywood in colonial raj theme for the decor, walls and menu but I think it falls flat. It's not pathetic but not great either.
I met my (then) prospective in-laws here for the first time. I'm not sure, but I think whenever I goofed up answering something, I passed on the fish fry and prawns to them. The tasty dishes were distracting enough. :)
On a serious note, I must say that the food here, rocks! Consistency is their hallmark! Anything Mutton or fish here, tastes great. I just love the mutton biriyani. A meal for two minus drinks will come to Rs600+
Service is good. Music is usually old instrumental Hindi numbers, which is true to the theme.
The man at the door resembles Shikari Shambu (but doesn't look like he'll goof up easily) :). He always smiles, which is a good thing.
The place gets real busy on weekends, so it might be a great idea to book in advance if you want to be here. Now this also happens to be wifey's favorite joint. So I guess there is a positive bias here.
This makes me want to be posted at Bombay (this doesn't mean anything!)
peace.

Bombay Post does a great job creating the colonial British atmosphere, from the Royal Guard with extra large mustache that greets you at the gate, to the interiors and durban-fashioned waiters that take your order. We ordered Murgh Shahi Rolls, some Mirchi Ki Chaat type dish, a yellow daal tadka, and a Reshmi Kebab type dish (although it was called something else). All in all, the food was solid, although on a few occasions with the reshmi kebab, I did find chicken tendons (why don't people clean their damn chicken here!?). Daal was fantastic as well.
A bit off were the random posters of famous has-been Bollywood and Hollywood actors. I just didn't see how that fit into the overall look and feel of the place.
A bit on the pricey side, but if you're looking for somewhat of an experience or you generally enjoy the settings of Colonial England, this may be your place. I also hear they have a good fresh Pomfret display area where you can go check out fresh Pomfret laying on beds of cold ice, and occasionally, you'll even catch a chef come by to snatch one for a dish :)

Easily accessible on the Domlur intersection of Airport Road and Inner Ring Road, Bombay Post takes you down memory lane into the golden era of Hindi movies. Melodious tunes of Mohammed Rafi waft through and melt into the distinctly Indian, but very stylish decor of the place as pictures of yesteryear doyens of Bollywood look down on you from walls all around.
Great place for Indian food - both vegetarian and non-vegetarian and some cool prices too.

A Veerappan lookalike durwan. Large black and white posters of Bollywood baddies. A menu the size of an Ayn Rand novel. And scrumptious food.
Try the kebabs.

This place has one of the best Indian food I've ever had. The Dal Makhani here is real special. Besides, we had Lal Mirch ka parantha and Keema Baida Roti, both of which were pretty good. To add to that, the place had nice service even though it was packed with people! And the ambience, especially with the huge Hindi cinema painting on one of the walls, is good too! All in all, a must visit place if you like savouring North Indian food. I'm going again some time soon :-)
