Its been almost 14years since I met all of them…. I was so excited with some presumptions in my mind on how my childhood buddies could be looking now, would we all be comfortable in talking and approaching each other. Time just flies….
….. and a few of the primary school friends decided to meet up and spend the entire day together and have a weekend retreat @ Club Cabana.
We all met near the school and started our long journey. It took us a good one and half hours to reach the place.
Its entrance has a stone clad wall and lush green lawn and plants around which was warm and welcoming! They tied a band to all our hands without which we could not have an entry and use the facilities in the club. Entered the huge reception hall which was well done with the interiors of earthen and the brass pots, wooden shelves and huge chandler. The bar and the coffee shop were attached.
We had a person to guide us about the pool, the games etc.. and we could not wait longer to change and barge into the wave pool. After a good two hours in the pool, we rushed, changed and pounced on our plates to have the buffet. We were all terribly hungry and hogged the food. Since we were all too hungry, could not relish and enjoy it completely. The buffet consisted of the salads, the papad, the rotis, naans, roomali roti, spinach kofta, veg curry, dal, chicken curry, murgh masala, fried rice and curd rice. For desserts, there was vanilla icecream with fruit salad. I think by this time, my hunger had completely reduced and I got the real taste of the dessert. The fruit salad was bitter and the icecream wasn’t all that great.
After the lunch, we were completely charged up to play the other games. We were taken to the other place called “Jade Garden” – also belonging to Club Cabana which is right opposite the main one. There was bowling, then the carom, the badminton – I played this after a looong time and wasn’t bad at all! And ofcourse tried my hands billiards as well as a beginner.
It was the snacks time and they served veg rolls and samosas with tea / coffee.
The sun was almost getting off the view and we were dead tired. We made the payment and headed back home happily. Since, one our friends had the corporate discount, it was Rs.600 per head for the entire day activities with the food. Definitely worth and I thoroughly enjoyed with long lost friends :)
Highly recommended place for a weekend outing with friends and family!!

The Good:
- Wave pool is fun
- Water slides although only 3 in number are good.
- Lazy river for just sitting around
doing nothing
- Decent food. Non Veg served in lunch was good. Vegetarian was also decent.
- Good ambiance
The Bad:
- Tennis Courts are not maintained. Cannot see the court lines.
- Only one badminton court. A large group will have problems.
- We had to share the facilities with another group and the times were not well managed. There are 2 tennis courts so that was fine but trying to get the badminton or squash courts required a lot of patience. Bowling time was well managed.
- Bowling alley in dire need of maintainence. Rarely did 10 pins come for me (sometimes 9, sometimes 8). In my first try 8 pins fell and 2 were remaining. These pins were not picked up by the picking mechanism and both fell in the process. My 8 pin shot was thus converted into a strike.
- Bowling had only 5 frames
Conclusion
A decent place to go with kids or in a large group but go there only to utilize the water related facilities.

We reached there at 9:00 AM on a lazy Sunday morning after a hour's drive from Bannerghatta Rd -we were a group of around 15(make sure u do the bookings well in advance cos u get some cool discounts!)
We started of with a light breakfast (puri, idli vada) an then went on to the Bowling Alley.(a pity the package includes just one round for each member).Made way to the sports arena-played squash, tennis, volleyball n badminton.
Cooled down with some chilled beer at the bar;styled on the lines of sailing ship theme. The drinks were cheap to say the least,so you can help in an extra pint!.
Having been "set" now we left the bar to jump into the wave pool. The cold water was a bit of a dampener initially (we went to the place in Jan!) but in didn't really matter after a minute of 2 and we enjoyed immensely.Try the water rides as well -there are just 3 of them but you will find yourself doing the rounds in multiples!
All this had made us quite hungry and we just feasted when lunch was served.A decent meal with 2-3 options in both the veg & non-veg section. Rested a bit and off we went to the lazy river on tubes.Must have made at least 5 rounds of the same. The water had warmed a bit due to the sun and it felt good.Had some waterfights and tube topplings ( basically U just try and topple the next guy's tube before he manages to do yours!) The day almost coming to an end we got into dry clothes, few people decided to have another round of squash/baddy and some hit the bar again! We finally called it a day (it was almost 6 PM then).
The bottomline Now !!
Its a nice resort with lots of goodies tucked away in neat packages. You get a good option of indoor and out door games. The bowling alley though small was especially good.
A wave pool and water rides to enjoy and beat the heat.A lazy river ride to chill and get ur energy capsules back on.To top it it all a good and pretty cheap bar.So if you are looking for a day out with family or friends then a good place to be but ensure you are in a large group which adds to the "fun" factor.
