Best in town for mangalorean cuisine

I went to this place two years ago and I've been going there way too often since then. The food is scrumptious and truly authentic. The price is a big turn on. Never in Bangalore I have tasted such lovely Bangda fry for 50 Rs. The chicken kori roti is a must try and the neer dosa is absolutely yummy . It's a place for a true foodie.

Lives up to its name!!!

Mangalore Pearl is THE restaurant if your planning an authentic mangalorean dinner and if you dont know what mangalorean cusine is like......then its definitely worth the try.

The place is homely and the the staff are very efficient. The menu is a great collection of authentic mangaloren dishes with a wide choice of meats.

For starts....the Sol Kadi or the Cocum Juice is recommended. The sol kadi for some reason is served only half full and is really nothing but a light pink, cold, spicy butter milk.
Dont forget to try the clams and squid rings. The batter fried squid rings are killer!!!
The main course is really a wide choice of food and you need more than one visit to really enjoy the variety.
Some of my recommendations would be the Pork Bafat with sanas(small sweetish round idlys that go well with the pork gravy). The Neer dosas are amazing and a nice mild chicken gravy is a great combination. Kori roti is another interesting dish. They are like crispy pappad like dosas served broken and they are a great combination with the pork, chicken and lamb gravies.
They serve a great pulao rice that they call "biryani rice" and its served with raitha.
The seafood is really the best....kane masala fry, seer fish fry, pomfret fish curry are all amazing not to mention the squid, crab, clams and oysters!!!
If you like pork, try the pork sausages. they are awesome too.
The desserts consist of rice manne (A rice pudding that has a gelatine like consistency) and the ragi manne (ragi pudding) and theres awesome bread pudding and caramel custard.

The price is great here and its a great place to treat friends or family with a wide choice of dishes. You'll be surprise every time by the bill. Its total value for money and motivates you to leave a generous tip!!!
OVERALL-AWESOME PLACE.A MUST TRY!!!

Authentic konkan food

Missing 'mamma' made mangalorean food in Bangalore?? MP is a place to be. Loved thier generous serving of Fried sear fish with neer dosa.
The place is bit difficult to locate, but the hardship is worth for the sumptous food served there. Not very hard on your wallet either.

Mangalore food like it should be made!

After quite a few claims by 'Coastal' and 'Mangalorean' restaurants in the city, this is one that actually lives up to its name!

Mangalore Pearl was a chance find and from there on, its the only Mangalorean place in Bangalore yet (other than my house of course ;)) that I will recommend to anyone ...

The ambiance isn't the best in the world and it doesn't sport any fancy decor but it is clean and nice and homely and that is all I am looking for!

Start with the Coccum Juice (Binda) and try to eat as much of the traditional food as you can ... the Sheyyos and the Sannas and the Neer Dosas with the obvious Mutton curry. Also the Pork Bafat ... that can't be skipped! Sannas and Pork Bafat make the classic Mangy cuisine addictive :)

Overall it is a stunning place to go to food wise and you won't regret it! I am not so much of a sea food freak so I haven't really tried much of it though the prawns are quite nice ... (see I get enough sea food at home ... so I don't bother with it outside!)

This place is very easy on your wallet and a meal for two with extra servings of coccum juice can easily be accommodated for under 350 rupees!
