Service tax??!!

I visited this place for the first time. Liked the food there, but the seating arrangement is not comfortable at all. What surprised us more is the inclusion of service tax upon Vat. We ended up paying 80 bucks nearly as just tax! Thats ridiculous. We asked the manager to explain and he was so rude that he just didnt bother to explain. Rather he stood up from his chair and looked like he would have arm twisted us to pay up!
I would probably never go to this place where they try to fool customers through these arbit ways. I would rather go to a place that gives out honest rates and not try and make money through these means after you have ended up dining there and you dont have an option but to pay!

ruin o picola ....

Let me just plain begin with this. Had to give this place one star as rating is mandatory.
The decors are not all that appealing with loud music banging on your ears so much that you cannot hear the person sitting in front of you or you calling a waiter simply wont reach him. This place has 3 floors with the first and third being the restaurant and the second being the "party" hall. The bar is rooftop that being the third floor.
Food is one thing that will take you to CASA again. They serve good food, sizable portions at a reasonable price. The chef must really be complimented for making the best of his minimal available resources. Though not authentic Italian, the food tastes good on your buds.
Readers must really wonder why I started with my one star comment on this place when I have actually liked this place. Here goes my story.

I was a regular at this place, one such night I went here to have dinner along with my friend, the music as usual was loud. Placed my order and my food did arrive unlike the previous time when that also failed to happen. The time before my last visit there I placed the order, waited for 45 mins only to be informed that my order was forgotten. Anyways coming back to this time, the food as usual did taste good, finished my dinner and was about to have my dessert. My dessert a supposed cake was rock solid at the bottom and not all that bad at the top. Not wanting to crate a scene I ate the top part but as I started eating more it simply got harder and even failed to be cut through my fork, spoon or knife !!!!!!! I called the waiter twice and he didn hear, when I shouted for him the manager budges in to tell me that I cannot be rude to the waiter and asked me my problem. When I did tell him everything, he takes the dish in, has it examined and throws in a couple of spoons of choclate sauce and tells me that he has now made it softer and I should continue eating it. When I refused he said hye would anyways go ahead and charge me for it. Inbetween all of this he kept staring at us right throughout our meal. When I questioned him about this he asks me to step out of the place to settle the matter outside. He comes out with his people outside the place to "loosen" his tie and threaten me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well if you can believe this was my experiance here .....

Oasis

Really, it is an oasis in the heart of 4th block. Went there when I was tired - and had a perfect casa meal of cheese dyna stix (they are like jalapeno poppers), succulent chicken pot pie with garlic bread and the absolutely yummicious After 8 ice cream and washed it all down with a delicious iced tea. Came out happy :-) Sit at the terrace - its worth it.

hmmm...

yeah that is exactly what my gang set thinking when we entered this place..
yep we were expecting a similar experience as one has in its branch on residency road..which is comparatively more crowded..
the ambience here is much better..although we didnt try out the terrace they have..the insides of the place are really worth admiring and do raise an eyebrow!

although the pastry they served was not very "casa Picol"y...

we werent all that happy..but what the hell..the place was jus starting..it will catch up for sure...

A real lounge in Jayanagar!

Finding this place made my day. I have passed by this Casa's several times but ignored it since I assumed that it is like the other ones - good but nothing special. Decided to step into it after an afternoon out to get something cool to drink and was pleasantly very surprised, to put it mildly!!!

This Casa's is HUGE - it is 3 levels - and has the open air outdoorsy feel of all the other branches. What is really special about it is that it has a covered terrace more like Casa del Sol (the lounge on Residency Road which is run by the same people), lovely patio furniture, Spanish looking tiles - and a neat bar. Very, very loungable - and in this part of the city - surely it is much-needed. Step in and sip on your drink and you will that forget you are in Jayanagar, much less in 4th block.

I had an iced tea - they make it there, not some canned or bottled stuff. I asked him to put less sugar - and he made it perfectly. My friend had a rum punch and pronounced it yummy. We did not eat anything - but chatted for a few hours - no one bothered us and the place was pretty much empty at 4 pm.

I am sure the place is lovely in the evenings too, I noticed strategically placed beautiful lamps - and if you are looking for a place for a romantic date or to lounge about with your friends in South Bangalore - this surely is a must-try!
