Miscplaced cuisine, pricey...

As someone who's lived in North India (UP/Delhi) for almost all his life, this place was a bit of a let down. Instead of being a place to help evoke the flavours of home, we were treated to a mish-mash that was neither here not there.

Started off with a mutton burra - nicely marinated and succulent.

For the main course, we started with a mutton hihari - one of my benchmark dishes to evaluate a restaurant. Too spicy (and too much pepper?), though the meat was tender enough. Sent it back to kitchen to get the heat taken down. Was better after that.

Big shock: the chicken qorma, which was orange-coloured and sweet! Curd and tomato aplenty - stuff that shouldn't be in a qorma! Seemed like a distant, sweetened cousin to butter chicken. Couldn't continue and sent it back to the kitchen altogether.

Chef Dhirpal was receptive of our comments - treated us to a nice dessert of ice-cream with an interpretation of seviyan. The place seemed redeemed because of the staff's' conscientiousness, but...

... they billed us for the chicken qorma, which we had sent back to the kitchen!
Paid and left, not wanting to crate further scene...

Anyway, the positives:
Some of the food was nice, Ambience was nice, Well-mannered and helpful staff

Negatives:
Pricier than others, Some stuff on the menu might be quite unlike what its meant to be (not what I expected, going in, to be a specialty restaurant)

Ummm....Nothing really outstanding

Its a good/ decent place for north indian dishes. I kind off liked the ambience...it is very comfortable. Food is strictly deceny. I tried the tomato soup(say 2 on a scale of 5). Followed by Seekh Kabab which were ok-ok (3 out of 5) and then kulcha and black pepper chicken ---the chicken was horrible...it was extremely bland and creamy, which was not my idea of a pepper flavoured dish.
The service is goodand the chinki looking waiters are dammm cute and cheerful
They have a special bday song also that can be played on request

amazing starters...

Went there for a treat, and it was all worth it !!!!!

First of all the ,ambience is really good, and ifu get the corner table , then the seating is even great. Feels king size.

Food wise, it has a great range for starters in terms of veg and nonveg. and very affordable. The kababs, especially POTLI Kabab,Bukka Murgh and Rampur ki Khasiyat are great.Tandoor Gobi was very good.

The Biryani was not all that great, still prefer the SAHIB SINDH SULTAN's Dum Biryani.
Service is really very good. I was even sent a thank u message the next day.

Liquor is pretty affordable.

All in a all, excellent service and great INDIAN CUISINE.

Good food!

I have been to this restaurant a couple of times now. The very first time I went there, was when I happenend to see this small place when I was passing through Koramangala.

From the first visit to now, the quality of food and service has not changed a bit, and it is really good! The only thing is that, it has become pretty crowded and noisy nowadays.

The best part about this restaurant, which I have not found in most others is that, even though the restaurant serves both Veg and Non-veg food, Vegetarians will feel very comfortable with eating their kind of food, without any issues. My friends who have tasted the non-veg spread here were also pretty happy with it!

They have a lunch buffet as well, which costs around 130 bucks + taxes, and the spread which they give for the buffet is surely worth it! My favourties there are the Vegetable rampuri biriyani, which contains the perfect amount of spices which is required and cooked to exactly the right extent. The food is good on your stomach too. All the gravies and bread varieties are also good, and offer a sumptuous meal. Dont forget to sign off with a special rampuri nimbu pani , which tickles every bit of your taste buds and leave you with a feeling of fulfillment.
A vegetarian meal for 2 might cost anywhere between 300 and 450 bucks.
Thumbs up to this place!
