Welcome to Chinglish

If its Indian chinese you are looking for, goto Chung Wah - the food tastes awful.

We started with a crab soup. you'd expect the soup to have some hint of seafood aroma/taste - nothing!!! it might as well have been corn soup minus the corn and thickened water. the pieces of crab had been boiled for god knows how many days - there was no flavour or taste left in them

The green tea according to me should have come with a small tea strainer. I'm not a milk tea drinker but i sure do not want to be chomping down on tea leaves while sipping my tea.

we ordered a fish starter(thai basil fish) which was nothing special. the way you'd probably do it is to leave some semblance of bassil in there rather than batter frying the poor guy like kfc chicken!! the best part of the meal was the chicken dumplings. btw, i am a firm believer that dumplings taste best with just soy sauce, not dousing them in all kinds of garlic, chilly, tomato ketchup stuff. this became apparent when i had homemade dumplings made by a chinese friend (with pork filling). anyway, back to food.

Ordered hunan chicken(why???), thai red curry chicken, taro nest fried rice, plain rice and noodles. To start off, the noodles were burnt, but dont think anyone else in the group noticed. there was nothing special in the thai red curry - just the mundane coconut-limegrass mixture.

All in all, Magnolia is as good as going to Chung Wah - nothing chinese in this, just chinglish food.

Very good Thai food

The ambiance is quite quaint - it's a single storied stone house converted into a restaurant.
The parking leaves something to be desired. Since it's a residential area, you need to park in some by-lanes and walk to the restaurant. There's no valet parking.
Once you are in, the Thai food is worth writing home (and on burrp) about. The red, green and yellow curries are mouth-watering, as are the soups and appetizers like Satay,
Stay away from the Chinese food though. It's not quite as good as the Thai.

Awesome food!

I'd give this place a ten on ten! Though I haven't been to the new place yet! The old place was originally someone's house which was later converted to make it a restaurant! Great food, love the honey on something dessert at the end! [ sorry I can't remember the name of the dessert! look for something which has sesame seeds and honey in the desserts section of the menu card!]

Warm, comfy and pink!

This is one restaurant which it call itself a restaurant. All the elements are very well balanced and gives a wholesome dining experience.
First of all let me tell you the place has been shifted from the homely stone house to a a more commercial premises, but let that not deter you. Nothing has changed.
The ambiance still sports a lot of pink, in a very chic way. The dining area is nice and airy. Perfect for a late evening meal or even dinner.
The cuisine is mostly thai, which i would say is, not top notch but quite good. The service is prompt and you have friendly waiters, with a smile on their face wearing, you said it, pink.
I've tried quite a few dishes and wouldn't suggest anything in particular as they are all delicious. Though a chicken shashlik serves as a fantastic starter.
You can relax and keep nibbling at your food as its served at a good slow pace.
Don't think twice if your planning a date with your girlfriend or boyfriend or any other friend for that matter.
Cheers and ... burrp!

I have been to a number of high-end Far-eastern places. This is the BEST. Food quality is GREAT. Cost is average. Its just perfect. MUST VISIT.
