Java City, it is a well-known name amongst the many coffee shops that exist in Bangalore. Though you would think that Coffee Day has dominated the coffee shop world, Java City is still drawing its share of customers with its simplicity and coziness.
The coffee shop is located on Lavelle Road, next to another popular coffee plus sheesha joint, Mocha. Admittedly, it looks very plain compared to Mocha but Java City scores points for better prices.
The menu is filled with coffees, teas, snacks, sandwiches and other variety of foods. One dish I would recommend here is Chicken Lasagne. It is priced at Rs 70 and the quantity is quite decent for its price. I wouldn't say it's exquisite but it's basic and good. I'm talking strictly on the basis of coffee shop food and not Italian cuisine. :)
Another dish which is a good bite there is Margerita Pizza. And if you order one full margerita pizza which is priced at Rs 125, you get one free! This is not mentioned anywhere on the menu or around the coffee shop, but it's an unsaid offer.
A drink I would recommend here is the Chocolate Milkshake, it is priced at Rs. 60 and it's a good way to beat the heat. The ice teas are also worth mentioning. For coffee fans, the latté is an excellent option.
Though it's not the most reasonable place ever, it doesn't go over the top which is great.
So you can say that a meal for two would come to about 300 including drinks.
The ambience, well there's not much of an ambience really, but it's open air and cosy. The music is usually barely audible and mostly radio.
The service, ahem, the service is actually quite bad. You really need to be lucky to catch a waiter in the first 15 minutes and the order takes about atleast 30 minutes. But they are very courteous and suggestive.
It attracts a lot of professionals as well as the young crowd.
Java City, also has a shop called Say C which sells women's clothing, shoes and bags. They have an excellent choice of the above and marked as a definite shopping stop for women.
Java City - cosy, comfortable and reasonable. Nothing great, but not bad at all.

Though the place is not much preferred for a professional hangout, this is a cool place to sit out and hear some warm music.I prefer visiting this place once a while, since the crowd ther is teen and it gives me a more younger feeling when i am in middle of them...........i am definitely young although but lovely to see all the college beauties and hunks hanging around

Agreed with the previous burrper - this place is for coffee lovers who want friendly, local service with an ear for good live music. Make sure to call first if you want to catch a band play music!

Live music, progressive crowd, excellent coffee - what more can you ask for? If you are looking to mingle with a crowd of thinkers, this is the place.
BLR needs more places like this!
