Bad Day?

It must've been, 'cause my experience at Elements was *nothing* like that of the 3 previous reviewers.

Having seen Elements on my way to work almost every single day for the past year, it didn't take much to make me decide that it'd be the venue for a nice evening out. Not quite.

The pros? The ambience, especially on the first floor and on the stone benches, really is as nice as it looks from the outside. The stone work, the bamboo and the soft, warm yellow lighting are all good to set the mood. The rather elderly gentleman who took our order was helpful & nice. And yes, the coconut coolers are quite yummy indeed.

From there, however, it kinda went downhill. The fried squid starter we ordered came in on a melamine plate with some random carrot and cabbage shreds for color(?)/ garnish(??)/G-d knows what reason. And the quantity? I'd say a rather mean handful would just about describe it. All that could've been ignored if the taste made up for it, but it was middling to poor at best.

The Lamb Pepper Steak we ordered was another disaster with oddly cooked, tiny pieces of meat in the midst of some sad looking veggies and rice. After trying quite bravely to chew our way through it, we decided to cut our losses and run.

I wish it'd been a better experience, but I honestly don't think I will give this place another go.

Quantum of Solace in our Neighbourhood

Forgive me if you find this review a bit over the top but I am burping the truth here :) Never have I left this place disappointed, and I have been there atleast half a dozen times. Elements is an ideal example of how a small restaurant can be a gem of a place, especially for sizzlers and steaks., better than most 5 star restaurants. So from my side it gets five stars in this review.

Elements is a complete package - extremely good food, very efficient staff, Good ambience and cheerful decor.

My husband and myself are regulars here, being in the neighbourhood. But that aside, Elements does come across as a very warm place with no airs about it.

A Word on the Decor:
Keeping true to its name Elements has a subtle decor combining clay, wood, glass, cloth, water and lights.

We usually pick a table on the ground floor (non-smoking) opposite to the fish pool. The smoking area is open with dhaba style seating but better than that. Inside it is spacious with lounge like seating. Upstairs looks different with a more youthful look.

What caught my attention immediately was the clever soft lighting, made up of LEDs running through a fibre pipe, giving it a diffused look. I am sure this way the restaurant owner saved on electricity.

I could KISS the chef:
The food has consistently been good and the chef has never disappointed us each time we ordered Corn Steaks. The accompanying steak sauce is finger-licking. Just the thought of it is making me drool.

I find their menu extremely satiating, from white meats to sea food, from mushrooms to corn. However its veg-menu isnt as wide as the non-veg options. Nevertheless we always find solace in our Corn and Mushroom Steaks.

The presentation of food is also very appealing with a free bread basket to go along with anything you order. I should recommend the garlic breads which are fresh out of oven. Beleive me when I say that I have tasted the best garlic bread only in Elements.

The mocktails are also innovative. Try the Elements Special which is a combination of orange, mango, mint and pineapple.

Desserts are regular but I have mostly missed out on them thanks to a full stomach after the main course.

OH YEAH, I almost forgot they also serve you flavoured Hookahs. They claim these are non-tobacco flavours. I am yet to try one.

Customer-friendly:
The manager often pays individual attention to the guests, even helping them decide. The place is mostly crowded even on weekdays, and yet people prefer to wait instead of trooping out. The prices too are wallet-friendly.

The Final Word:
Whenever there was a need to be a couple again or just enjoy a hearty meal we have found our quantum of solace in this friendly neighbourhood restaurant. I suggest you try it atleast once.

Very cool

This place has steaks, salads and other conti stuff. The best part is the ambiance - very very cool, and very different from other places in Bangalore. Low tables, cushions and hookahs make it a super cool hangout.
