My mother being a fan of the Chinese cuisine, suggested we should have dinner at Chungs.
Though close to home, it was quite a while since we tried this one.
The Chungs at east end opened a few years ago. They have 7 branches in Bangalore.
There is a short and broad stairway leading you to dark glass doors with welcoming Chinese lanterns and depictions.
Soon after you are warmly welcomed you’d find a dimly lit place. They have tables closely placed, with flat TV’s stuck to every wall.
There are more chances of a wait before getting your seat, but for us, it was a timely entry with an exit of another group.
We settled down in a corner table. In reason to accommodate more people, the tables are very closely placed, diminishing the privacy factor.
The menu was descriptive and had choices of vegetarian and non-vegetarian.
Soon we ordered a corn toast and chicken momos. The corn toast was at it's best when Chung's started, somehow, I felt the taste has deteriorated.
The chicken momos were not crispy and didn’t taste well. The garlic sauce with the corn toast was delicious, The soft drinks came in and we had a complaint it wasn’t cold enough, for which the waiter said, ice cubes weren’t available!
For the main course we had the American chopsuey, fried rice and a bowl of noodles. The crunchy chopsuey was my favorite, my taste buds thoroughly enjoyed the blend of crisp-n-juicy sauce. The rice and noodles were authentic and tasted just fine.
I must say that the service is quick and courteous. The waiters and helpers are very quick, very neatly replace used plates with clean ones and are always there for you with spoons, forks, sauce, water and anything you need.
They take telephonic reservations. Once we paid and came to the exit, there were quite some people in queue.
The place is very reasonable. A good place for a quick Chinese meal

Tried it out a few times and they are very consistent with their taste. Their delivery is prompt and hassle free. Good chopsuey. Try it out some weekend.

This restaurant gives you a huge menu, only for a feel. As such, there won't be much of a difference between most of the items. The taste is good, the only problem what i felt here is that oil content is more which you don't expect much in a chineese restaurant.
If you are around east end and you are looking for chineese food, you can drop in here. The second option you have got will be wangs which is around a km from this restaurant on the same road towards marenhalli.
