BEST BUFFET

This place is really the right one for a lunch or a dinner buffet.

Been there on a Saturday afternoon, lucky had a reservation, otherwise it would've been quite difficult to get the best of the buffet.

First of all the theme, GREAT,MODERN RAILWAY gives a feeling of Europe.I guess it is very easy to compare it with SAHIB SINDH SULTAN since that is also based on a similiar theme, though SSS sticks to the theme even on the MENU.

Great spread of food,Chinese,Indian, not so much for a Veggie though, great hunan chicken and dimsums.Since we went for a Birthday, they were happy to give us a small cake. That was very nice.

By 1.45pm it was fully crowded, and could see people waiting outside. The buffet was getting low now, especially the Biryani, just the rice was left.

Spread of food is still the best part , then ofcourse the theme and then service.

200 + somthing is just too good for WEEKEND BUFFET.

A must-visit place

Though I had been to Total Mall many times, i never ventured into Metro. But recently a friend treated us there and i totally recommend this place. The ambience is great and a lot of pain has gone into giving the place a 'metro' look and feeling. The blue interiors against silver give it a very modern and impressive look. The two trains on either sides are good for the non-smokers while the 'platform' is for the smokers. For the ambience i would give it 10 on 10.

Not only does the place look good, the food is great as well. Quite comfortable on the pocket and good to taste. We tried teh night buffet and felt taht it was total value for money considering the fact that we have very less choice for night buffets in the city. For the price we paid for the buffet, I must say it was a generous multi cuisine spread. But teh drinks are a little expensive.

Good Buffet Menu

We had been to Silver on one fine Saturday afternoon. Plunged into the starters and soup salads first. There was Peking Chicken, Hunan Soup, Veg chilly .. Macaroni salad, chat etc etc ... It was good .. would prefer more variety in chicken in all courses.. Main course had kukad tariwala ..which was awesome, Palak Paneer -- ok ok , Chole -- delicious ... Nans were good .. Desserts -- pastries, ice cream, kheer, cut fruits .. So good range of dishes to choose from and gulp in at 185/- + taxes.

Ambience is interesting ... different !
Must try once ...

Buffet to Bulge Your Stomachs

My fiancee and myself planned to have lunch at Metro after hearing about its VFM buffets.

So we reached there on a Saturday afternoon. And our first impression was 'Who would build a mall in this area'? Not that I am criticizing the locality, but after shopping at the other malls which are located at strategic and quite aesthetic localities, I was surprises to find shabby sheds, dilapidated buildings, a ruralish(sic) market quite nearby and horrible roads+traffic. In-fact, they can announce that they will offer the moon to their customers because thats what you get: potholes the size of moon craters. And the mall is poorly maintained and still undergoing repairs/renovations.

I would suggest you take the lift directly to the third floor which houses the food court, because all the other floors are for gluttonous shoppers who would want to pounce upon every grocery and other home necessities.

The mini indoor facade of this restaurant is quite interesting. A metro engine replica on either sites, complete with a driver mannequin and all! And this engine is followed by what looks like compartments of a metro train. Passersby who are wandering the mall can peep into the windows and watch you gorge!

The ambiance is pretty good. But the table placement leaves much to be desired.

We were shown to our table which was inside one of the compartments. In the background, we could hear fake train sounds with occasional announcements that we have arrived at our station "Ohris Metro". We can also get down at Serngeti or Sanzibar next door.

The waiters need refinement. Our waiter pestered my finacee repeatedly to go for a mocktail. We mildly refused and I ordered a Kingfisher beer 650 ML which cost Rs.140. There is a decent choice of other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Then we moved towards the buffet section. On offer were two veg salads, two non-veg salads, steamed veg and non-veg wantons(in authentic looking bamboo boxes not unlike in Hong Kong), there was fried fish, a chicken dish, veg and non veg soup, two types of bread (aka 'bun'), few sauces for the salad, three types of pickles, panneer masala gravy, dal makhani, brinjal gravy, channa gravy, noodles, dum veg biriyani, ice cream with sauces, kheer, two types of cakes.

The food was average, but one can seriously fill their tummies here. I certainly did and skipped dinner later that day.

The crowd is heavy and on that day, a college gang of 20+ who were foul mouthed made ruckus.

This is an ideal place under these categories:

A. You are really hungry and you are in the Koramanagala vicinity and you dont mind shelling out around Rs.180 for a meal. Then you can sit and gorge to your hearts content.

B. You are a young group and would like to throw a birthday party.

C. You are a corporate group on a team lunch/dinner.

This is not the place you would want to bring your date.

I might visit this place if and only if any of my friends offer a group lunch or dinner.
