This was my second visit to this restaurant and both the visits confirm one thing. This place is for the expat crowd who dont mind paying an obscene amount to get a taste of authentic food.
A spartan meal for two without any drinks and dessert could easily cost 800 and above and if you decide to go a little easy then god save you!.
Neither the quality nor the quantity justify the obscene prices. Moreover the chefs conviniently change the dish to their liking irrespective of what you might have ordered and if you feel short changed thats your problem
We ordered lamb chops and two portions of smoked chicken salad for starters. The lamb comes first and we are just dazed and amused. It had 4 one sq inch sized thin chops which was very coarse and tough to eat. it was just plain mockery of the order.
Next was the smoked chicken salad, you would hve thought that chicken was tossed with the leaves but this is where you are mistaken, only the slivers present on top for garnishing are the only pieces of chicken you would see. as for the cheese less said the better, the local darshini provides more cheese in their vegetable sandwich than what we got on this salad.
On our last visit i had ordered grilled chicken stuffed with edam cheese and wife ordered spagetti with basil pesto sauce. the chicken was tough and burnt to the extent of tasting a little bitter and wife's spagetti turned out to be made with cheese base with no hint of basil!
This is the last time for me in this restaurant unless some rich expat friend of mine decides to treat me there!!!!

We went to this place once at the old location and once more recently at the new location. This time work was still going on and it was really noisy and we had to ask them to stop for fear of getting a headache. The noise stopped after a good 15 mins. It was a warm day outside and since the place is on a covered terrace, the hot sunlight came streaming in and the fans were inadequate.
Now for the food. We first had a forgettable shrimp starter then ordered pork chops and a tortellini dish with clams (don't remember the exact description).
The pork chops were good but the tortellini was entirely different from what was described in the menu. The stuffing was completely different and there was no sign of any clams. I felt cheated and even though we complained about it, no one bothered to come over and apologise or rectify it.

Herbs and Spice is a lovely neighbourhood place in Indiranagar. The food is good, but still reasonably priced. It's run by two guys who seem to know what they're doing. Definitely worth a visit. Superb decor, as well!

THe person who runs it is also very friendly. Took my kid into the kitchen to show her how stuff is made. We go there regularly and food is consistently good. Pizza is among the best in bangalore if u like thin crust.

I loved my dinner at this place on a friday night. First of all, it;'s not very crowded and has a nice simple decor.. I loved teh white textured walls against the spartan furniture.
The first thing they serve you is a basket of assorted breads.. For main course, my boyfriend had fillet-o-fish on a base of mashed potato while I had the bacon lafelle (something like that). Both of the dishes were very tasty and the quantity was GOOD. They serve the dish along with some geen veggies on the side which makes the food rich in fibre as well.
My only grouse about this place is that they don't have printed menus. They write the menu on a big blackboard.. but most of it gets crammed and you are not able to read it easily so you end up relying on the judgement of your waiter..
In any case, this place is a must-go for people who want to spend under 300 bucks for a meal and get good value for money. They get my thumbs up!
