The only thing that makes me go back to the Lakeview Milk Bar is the Continental Breakfast they serve till 12 noon. Make it a half hour later and you've missed it!
You get to choose for the vegetarian and non-vegetarian palate viz. Friut bowl, Cornflakes with hot/cold milk, baked beans, toast with butter/jam/cheese, fruit juice, eggs however you want -poached. scrambled, fried or omlette- sausages and a cuppa tea/coffee.
The Lakeview Milk Bar has shifted to St.Marks Road recently and though it might be little less accessible now (previously they were at M.G.Road), I think now they have more space for loyal patrons. The place can't win any contests for Decor, Hygiene or Service, but I have had no experience yet with any unclean food presented at my table. And considering the regularity I am there I think that is pretty good especially since it has not yet hampered my tummy or appetitie. :D
I have had a few of their sandwiches and omlettes too (the days I missed the Brunch), and they seemed pretty good too. They undertake catering services too. A lot of their pastries and baked cakes are usually ordered, though I haven't had any of those yet.
The place is not very crowded. Getting a table is definite now; it wasn't the case when they were at M.G.Road. The prices are reasonable, the service is poor, they expect you to pay up even before you attack the food. In a nutshell, I'd suggest to try out the place only if you are not very particular about anything but the grub. Otherwise it might turn out a little of a disappointment.

Imagine this....you've just come out of the Late-show from Inox, and you're ravenously hungry. And roaming around in your car searching for places to eat isn't turning up anything....Enter Lake View Milk Bar. An oasis for hungry souls and saccharine-toothed janta, open when others aren't.
I'd recommend Lake View anyday, anytime! Perhaps the interiors aren't that swanky!....but its a very honest appearance (a bit like the old Koshy's)- Old waiters, tables, chairs, and the buzz of conversation, thassit. And the food is ultimate! (IMHO, too few people know about this place.)
If youre looking for hearty portions, thick milkshakes and juicy burgers, and layered sandwiches...you'd be well served by trying out this place.
Their pizza's are really quite good....and can give any pizza chain a run for its money. And if you're a burger aficionado- Lamb burgers dont get much better!!!!! Despite how the environ's may look while passing by, the kitchen is clean, the food tastes very good, and quantity is really very substantial.
Known for late night service, you can pull up in your car...never step out, order, eat, and drive off. (Do pay!)
Their desserts dont compare to Corner House; the dessert-menu is a lot less flamboyant...But they're good at what they make.
Did i mention substantial quantities before?
The best way to try Lake View is....Late at night, when you !nnneeedd! to eat.

For a place which prides on being the first ice-cream parlour in Bangalore started in 1930's, they dont take as much pride in keeping it pest free I think.
I saw a rat there y'day. Kind of ruined my appetite...
For people who dont mind seeing a rat while having food, yeah place is good for ice-creams and sandwiches
