Terrible.
I've never really had a good meal here. And from what I've heard, it's now closed.
The meat was like re-tread rubber and the rice over-cooked. No better way to mess up a Biryani is there?
Try Riches instead. Only one kind, but super.

A little above average
Being an ardent biriyani fan, I was quite piqued by the idea of a biriyani alone restaurant...
The thing about Biriyani Merchant is, though their menu has a long list of biriyanis, only a certain number of them are available on each day and these are marked by red bindis on the side. This kind of limits your options.
The biriyani's are tasty enough, but somehow it doesn't seem to realy strike a chord and never makes you go slurrppp...
The date pickle is quite nice though and they do make small packs of it for 25/-
Being used to the Malabari Biriyanis, I found this place a slight disappointment since I couldnt find anything to beat the taste of the Calicut Biriyani which shouldnt ideally be the case if the biriyani had been really authentic. Another crib - no fish biriyanis...
But then for not so exacting a customer who is still interested in having a variety for biriyanis, this place would be it!
