A place for parathas, A popular place, Very good food, is what I heard from many and so decided to take a look at it myself.
A weekend with the family and Mast Kalandar close to home sounded tempting. It is a small place with not more than 10 tables. The hungry five-some found it hard to find place! We managed to get a table after the timely exit of another.
The interiors I must say are very bright and give a refreshing look with shades of Orange and yellow. Though small, it has that cool look!
The menu has been recently changed and sure is confusing! Irrelevant jargons with very less description are something one would find and so, end up asking the order taker quite a number of questions. After figuring out a list of things we liked to eat, we had to again wait to place the order, there is just one person to take the order face to face and telephonic… a real test to how multitasking one can be!
The Maska lassi was sure tasty. It had a wonderful and a unique flavour. We had the mini assorted platter as a starter. This sure wasn’t assorted, with just 3 cubes of paneer and 3 Aloos. Well, whatever little this sure tasted authentic.
The parathas are very generously given making you feel stuffed!
You have a variety of them, palak, corn, mooli, gobi, Aloo and many more.
There’s something called double and tripe freedom where you can choose a combination of these.
A plate of parathas would contain two parathas, a bowl of dhal, Masala dahi and chopped veggies (Carrot and raddish). The daal is something that that was simply awesome! The Masala dahi was so identical to the maska Lassi!
The biryani combo is something that I would never recommend! This is inclusive of Naan, Paneer butter masala, a bowl of dhal, Masala dahi, papad, coke and biryani.
The naan was good, but the panner Masala tasted like sugar water with panner! The biryani was just too sticky and tasted raw. A place definitely only for parathas, indeed!
The service is quick and responsive. A good place for veggies with a love for parathas!

I ordered paratha combos from here last Sunday. They serve them in unique plastic dishes for home delivery .. for which they charge extra .. wat the heck !!
The parathas were filled in just about ok.... stuffing could be more. Dal makhani was really tasty. Each combo had paratha, dal, veggie, pickle, curd ..
Many such combos to chosse from ..
would love to order again ..

Best way to get there ... Go on outer-ring rd towards btm .. at shell gas station intersection, take a left and keep going till you come to 11th main. Take a right on 11th main. Keep going till you see this place on your left.
Nice little place with clean, simple and functional modern decor with the plastic chairs. No menu cards (menu is on wall behind cashier). This is pay and order first, then sit down and eat place. Waiters had a little trouble understanding English (or maybe I have a really bad accent).
Every entree is a combo platter - more or less a thaali system - primarily with Dal, some vegetable, and your choice of roti / nan / kulcha / paratha. Comes with raita, salad, pickle. Did not try any of the juice/lassi drinks but may try next time. I could see they were fairly good size. My platter with 3 nans, paneer, dal, raita cost me Rs 104.
Best part is that everything was really tasty (the home made feel to it). Not very spicy - though I am sure many of you prefer your food to be really spicy. I intend to return to this place so I will recommend it.
