Dublin Dreams - the true Irish experience

I went to Dublin in what can only be termed as high anticipation, and I am glad to say that I was not disappointed.

If you are looking for a low-key yet luxurious evening out, Dublin is the place to visit. Start your evening with a pint, and you find out to your dismay and surprise that the popular, dark Irish beer Guinness is not available, and choice is restricted to Indian beers and the usual foreign ones. Oh well, it's just beer right? Right.

Cut to the wine selection, which is guaranteed to blow your mind. The amateur wine connoisseur would be quite out of his or her depth here, and with good reason. The geographical spread of the wine list is impressive - ranging from Chile in the south-west to Australia bang opposite. Believe me, it is enough to keep you occupied the
entire evening.

For starters we had a cheese platter, which is highly recommended, complete with grapes and crackers. The pub also has a live grill outside, from where you can order various grilled meats like beef, pork, lamb, chicken, prawn and fish. The sauces used with these are scrumptious and the entire dish simply delicious. For the veggies, there is a good pasta selection that should keep the rumble out of that stomach.

You can top off your evening with one (or two) of the various liqueurs available, which
seems like a very good idea after a couple of drinks. If you still have room for dessert, the menu has a considerable list available for perusal.

It seems like the best is over, isn't it? But not yet: the review would be incomplete
without the mention of the music that was played at this place (at least on Saturdays I
would think, which is when I visited). There was Irish music that was played, just one
musician playing 3-4 instruments single-handedly. And it was recognizable music, which made it even more enjoyable.

An evening for two would cost at least about 4,000 rupees for starters, a meal each, alcoholic drinks and dessert. But it is definitely worth it. So break your piggy-banks and start saving up for this most pleasurable experience. Arr!
