Great little place, but make sure to reserve.Definitely one of my favourite japanese resturants in Bangalore.
Sure the wait staff is not the friendliest bunch, but I'm not there to strike up a conversation with any of them. The food is what makes me come back again and again. It is tasty and plentifull.
If you are a foodie like me and can overlook things like curt service and a no-frill-ambience, this is the place for you.
You must try the set meals they serve but remember that the quantities are large and you cannot pack the left-overs....The service is quite quick, in case the place is not packed with Japanese expatriats....My favourite is the sashimi set which is raw fish with sticky rice, miso soup, pickles, salad and sea weed....
By far, a very authenic place, judging from the number of Japanese people and the Japanese owner....
A must try...!!

Dahlia's clean but modest interior belies one of the best Japanese restaurants I've been to in a long time. My wife and I entered the restaurant right at opening time, and within a half an hour the place was nearly completely full of Japanese people - which is a solid testament to the authenticity and quality of the food.
The menu is quite extensive, with pages upon pages of options (complete with pictures to help out those unfamiliar with Japanese cuisine). This is not just another sushi joint, they had dishes available that I had not seen since I was in Japan about 10 years ago.
The food was simply outstanding. I had an order of maguro (tuna) sushi and yakiniku (boneless cubes of beef grilled and served with a soy and garlic dipping sauce) and my wife had veg okonomiyaki (literal translation: stuff you like grilled, billed on the menu as a Japanese pizza. Who knows what's actually in it...) We both also had miso soup (soybean soup). The soup was good, exactly what I was expecting. The sushi met my (very high) expectations, and the yakiniku was fantastic. My wife, who is new to Japanese food, was satisfied with her okonomiyaki, but it did not become an instant favorite for her. I sampled it, and found it to be true to the classic Japanese preparation.
The prices were very reasonable considering the quantity and quality of the food. I might say the prices were a little low, considering. A meal for two, including soup, two entrees, a side of sushi and two pints of Kingfisher was Rs 1100.
The only thing I could ask for would be a selection of Japanese beers, but that can't possibly detract from what I consider 5 star quality, authentic Japanese food in the most unlikely of places.

Small not-so-eye-catching place on Church Street...but go ahead and give it a try...food is quite good here but take your time in deciding the dishes and get them clarified before ordering...
This one is closed on Sundays...
