Great for work lunch

MAS in a recent addition to the few restaurants in Electronics City. This is their second branch in the city, the first one being in Madivala. Reaching MAS is simple. If you are coming to Electronics City from Silk Board Junction, when you reach the main E City bus stop, take a left near City Sagar. It is a narrow bylane with potholes and slush on a rainy day. Let this not bother you. As you come further on the bylane to your left hand side is MAS restaurant. The friendly guard at the entrance guides you to the parking lot behind the restaurant. MAS has good parking space which is a real saving grace.

MAS is on the first floor and the walls along the stairs draw your attention with the paintings displayed. The interiors inside give a very warm and cozy feeling. Reason 1 being the dim lighting and reason 2 the restaurant depends on wall mounted fans to cool the place. The simple chairs are comfortable and are different from most chairs you would have seen. Some of their seating arrangement gives you a strange feeling of a counselling session/table.

MAS is a 'Mallu' restaurant but boasts of a multi-cuisine menu. If Keralite food tempts your palate, then this is the place to be. Try the 'Mallu' food and you will not be disappointed. My favourites here are the fish fry(price depends on the kind of fish), fish mollee (Rs 120) and Kerala Parota (Rs8). Two parotas and your meal is done. The Kerala meals here are a also a good option if you have holes in your pocket.

The Chinese variety is not too bad either. However do not expect authentic Chinese taste. This is India.

The waiters at MAS are straight from Kerala and so conversing with some of them is sometimes a challenge. Make sure your waiter repeats your order to make sure he's got it right. Stay away from one of the managers who might come to take your orders. Twice on my visit he was forcing me to try dishes i didn't want to. He can be irritating and rude. The service here is fast and the place is fairly clean for a work lunch.

For those working in E City, its a good place for everyday lunch.
