Nostalagic!

I feel Nandhini at Minerva circle has existed from decades. A glance at this building and it place brings a smile! I have been to this place a lot of times, approximately 20 seriously! It was one of the places out big happy family would frequently visit. Be it an anniversary, a birthday or just any other occasion and we would all meet up there.
It has 2 floors with the family restaurant in the second floor. The entrance has a waiting area, which is invariably full almost all the time. There is something for children to ease your wait and also an undisturbed dining event, well yea to an extent. There is a toy horse, a car and train where you can sit and it moves, making the children all excited!! I remember the times my sister, cousins and I collecting a rupee coin for the rides. Now it must be 5/- I guess.
I loved the idea of going to Nandhini just to hope-on these rides.
The food there has been good since then and continues to be. The quality of food has been maintained since it’s very inception.
The meals here are sumptuous; anything on the ‘andra cuisine’ is cooked just perfectly here. It would leave your taste buds spicy and asking for more.
The Dhal (pappu) they give with hot rice and ghee served on a banana leaf is simply heavenly. The Biryani is the most wanted dish and has to be ordered well in advance. It’s just too much in demand.
There have been a lot of changes with the interiors since then. There was a tall water fall, now they have a projector and white screen. The ambience is nothing striking attractive but is decent enough.
Service is fast and not so polite, the people are constantly in a hurry. Arguably there are times that they rush so much and not show you a customer centric approach.
Though there is service it sometimes feels like a self serviced place! What’s more?? There are people still visiting the place in spite of it’s flaws.
In weekend’s any Nandhini outlet you go I am sure you’d have to wait for at least 10 minutes.

They are reasonable with their price and the quantity of food is just more than enough.
Walk down this place with our stomach full and to the left you’d find a small pan shop that makes some good beetle. My cousins and I were definitely not allowed to redden our tongues with tasty Paan before but now I can happily binge on two if not one!

Many branches have come up and reduced our visit to this branch of Nandhini and of course the time for all of us to meet, probably that’s the reason why our visit to this place has reduced leaving behind nostalgia towards this place.
