Dirty place

Everything from table, floor to cutlery was not clean. Food was below average and service was lousy. And to add to that there is no proper parking. You have to park just next to NO parking sign.

Wife cooking according to the husband’s taste

DISCLAIMER: I AM AN OWNER OF THIS BUSINESS
The Vil'age, on 100-ft Road is a roof top restaurant that has a perfect village setup and has the looks of a Punjabi dhaba. The ambience is romantic and relaxed and there is plenty of space for one to lounge around and unwind.

The huge shady trees on the roadside creep on to the terrace, giving the restaurant a lush green environment.

The Vil'age is a North Indian restaurant and caters to the authentic Delhi and Punjabi palate. The food is rich and there’s plenty to choose from, for veggies and non-veggies.

There are a variety of starters for lunch and dinner. Before lunch, one can have chaas or lassi and before dinner, the preference is for Tamatar pudina shorba (tomato soup with mint) and for non vegetarians, Dum murgh ka shorba (chicken soup).

There are nine sections with interesting names like the Khazana and Mansahari khoobhiyan. The latter comprises 25 non-veg delicacies. Shakahari vyanjan has 16 vegetarian dishes, Haandi wali dal includes three variety of dals and Chawal, khas aapke liye has seven variety of rice dishes. Rotiyon ki peshkash, which again has seven type of rotis and Saath mein are eight salads. Shahi meetha for dessert die-hards has rasmalai, gulab jamun and lassi.

We started with Dum murgh ka shorba, which was a good appetiser. In the main course the choice was Lacha paratha with Dal bukhara khas (a vibrant combination of black dal, kidney beans and butter with garlic), Murg malai kebab (chicken breast pieces marinated with cream, cashewnuts and cheese). For the rice dish, Murg biryani (chicken biryani) was delicious. with mila jula raita.

Though the Delhi and Punjabi food is rich in spices and ghee, food here is scaled down for the health cautious people. The food is customised. It’s like the wife cooking according to the husband’s taste.”

The buffet in weekdays lunch time is priced at Rs 125, and very popular amoung corporates. So if you are going there in the lunch time dont forget to book the table else you have to wait a long time.
