  • Best dosa ever!

    I have been going to this place ever since i can remember. Their dosas are simply the world's best! crispy, tasty and their chutney is even better. I somehow never tried anything other than their dosas until now for some reason but i tried their sambhar vada yesterday and i must say... super!!! It can get a little over crowded in the evenings and weekends and people are standing on your head to catch hold of a table. But for what its worth, i dont care! And yes, its really not for the weight watchers coz their dosas are loaded with ghee. Overall, the only suggestion I have is probably they can... read more

  • They could teach Dosa makers a thing or two

    We heard about this place when watching one of the several `me too’ cooking/travel shows on TV. On this visit to Bangalore we just had to go there. After braving and haggling with the rapacious Rickshaw drivers we made it to Vidyarthi Bhavan on a Saturday mid morning. Boy was the place packed to the rafters. We stood out like the proverbial sore thumbs and after making ourselves as awkward as possible, one of the cashiers/managers took pity and escorted us to a table where the occupants were gang pressed into eating quickly and vacating.

  • Why the name ????

    This is a place where the 'menu card' is virtually chucked out of the window. The time between you sitting at a table after pushing and clawing your way through a hungry saturday afternoon crowd and biting into a crisp masala dosa is less than 30 seconds. We had a couple of masala dosas each (btw they serve only chutney - no sambhar), a couple of vadas and rounded it off with a couple of coffees.   • Lovely Place

    Being the good and obedient employee that I am, when my boss suggested I try this place out for its dosas, I immediately agreed that I would and so, yesterday saw me and my friend at its entrance. I peered warily inside and then after taking a picture of the entrance board, cautiously stepped into the restaurant. The first person I saw was the cashier, a most cheerful and smiley man who said hello and waved us further inside.
