Great ambiance, great relief from all the hustle and bustle of the commercial part of Richmond road, Brigade road etc. suggestion is since you have such a magnificent tree tone down the rest of the interiors to get a more earthy feel. Work close by (was listed and promised discounts on next visit) and at times it is a great relief to get away even if for a short while to a place as calming as yours. Food is excellent love the pork chops, portions on some of the others could be better, and good to see that you responding to fellow burrpers what would you recommend for a quick lunch -

Pls confirm if your restuarant is pet friendly. I have a 3 month old puppy - cocker spaniel & was looking at visiting you with him. -

We are open from 11 am - 11 pm
Lunch at 12 - 3.30 & Dinner at 7.30 - 11 and rest of the time we are open as a cafeteria.
Pets are welcome anytime..
Other than that, we have a specific event called Breakfast with pets, which is held 1st sunday of every month. 9 am - 12 pm. That day all pet owners come in with their pets and its great fun to see pets having fun amongst themselves.
Conti breakfast for Owners and a special platter for the pets.

A semi-rotten Mango perhaps 2012-05-07
I had been here with 4 of my friends for a small get together. We decided on this place after reading the reviews and thought it would be different, and hopefully good. Alas! Our expectations were too high perhaps... :(
Though the ambiance is good and we were all happy to see that it is under a mango tree indeed :) our spirits faded quickly. :(
Of all the 5main course dishes and the 3starters that we ordered only two dishes were satisfactory. I don't say good, I say average. The other dishes were well below par.

Did you come on sunday and have khowsuey and penne pesto and ravioli in arrabiata sauce among other items? Wanted to get to the root of the matter before taking any action..

We did come on Sunday(or was it Saturday I don't remember) but did not try any of the pastas or the khowsuey. Are you suggesting that they are good?
We had ordered Sauteed Mushroom, Tofu, and Spinach Cheese cubes of which only the cheese cubes were ok. Also we ordered 4 dishes from your vegetarian main course and 1 form non-veg.
For desserts, I think, we ordered all three items on your board. Desserts were the most disappointing items. :(

Far from the maddening crowd! 2012-05-03
I am a regular at Under the Mango Tree and its peaceful ambiance keeps me coming back for more. Every time a friend is in town, this is the first place I take them too.
I generally come here for their coffee, french fries and sandwiches, all of which are unbelievably reasonable. To sit under the canopy of trees, sip great cappuchinos and munch on delicious french fries is a treat indeed. There is no music to distract from conversation, but only gentle rustling of leaves.

Good ambience..needs to work on the food. 2012-04-24
i was here a couple of months ago with a bunch of office colleagues. i loved the ambiance. Being a Konkani Maratha who comes from a place where mangoes are exported I loved the concept. However the management needs to work a lot on their food. Plating was superb and the ingredients were all fresh, but my fish was over cooked. The chicken ordered by my friend was also not well done.
I am sorry to say but this was a very big downer. I would love to visit this place if some one assures me that their food quality has improved. -

GOODBYE BANGALORE.. HI TO UTMT ! 2012-03-28
Well. it was my last day in Bangalore after staying there for 7long years before relocating to Delhi. I took my friends to UTMT for kind of small farewell treat.
This place turned out to be a total surprise, and I was all zapped with the calmness and serenity of the place.Excellent natural ambience.
Secondly, Being a continental Lover, the food here was like cherry on the top.

We went for valentines day, me and my wife took the set menu and my kid ordered ala carte. Very limited wine selection, that too on a valentines day:( set menu food was just great, however most of the menu on the ala carte menu was not available. Ambiencewas just great, right under the mango tree:) -

"Under the mango tree" really has an inviting name, doesn't it? I could already tell it's a house turned into a restaurant.
It's kinda hard to tell there's a restaurant hidden on the insides of Richmond town, unless you were walking by and paid attention to it. The insides look pretty nice, I can bet it wasn't an expensive interior job but it still carries the pleasing looks for a continental restaurant (Oh, I think I noticed the mango tree right in the middle, if memory serves me right)

Under a Mango Tree... literally 2012-01-20
If you're looking for a new dining experience, come to this place. I came here with my husband and we had the mushroom leek soup, the apple lettuce walnut salad, the burnt garlic lasagna and my husband had the beef tenderloin steak. I enjoyed every item I ate. My husband said that his steak wasn't beef but was actually buffalo, but I'm a vegetarian so I'm not sure it that is accurate. And although a mango tree leaf fell into our food (twice!), the food was too delicious to care. It's a bit on the pricy side but worth it if you have the money to spend. -

Went on a Saturday evening with prior reservation. Since the place was not that crowded, it seemed like reservation was not necessary.
Starter & Soup : The tomato and basil soup was yum. So also the complementary bread & dip given. We had veg American bowl. The onion rings given as part of it had a funny taste...
