The first time I went to Umerkot about a year ago, I was bowled over. Every dish we ordered was impeccable.. the kebabs, the dum aloo, the lotus seeds, the biryani. All 4 of us that went were very impressed with the quality of the dishes, the attentiveness of the service, the ambiance, etc.
My husband and I went back a couple month later and sat and scratched our heads. Nothing seemed the same. The food was passable but not delicious, even though we ordered a few of the same dishes. The kebabs were dry and not very flavorful. And the service was slow.
A few weeks later I went with a group of girlfriends, and we had mixed reviews. Some of the dishes were great! The kebabs were back to being juicy, but one of the veg entrees came to use stone cold and had to be sent back to the kitchen.
And just for the record... I totally disagree with what the previous poster has said. Food education or not, people know what is delicious to them. If it doesn't taste good, who cares if it follows tradition?

Read your review and have had Chef Tyagi revisit all the recipes again. We have conducted a fresh menu tasting and now I assure you that you will have a nice time on your next visit. However, we have spiced up the food a bit, due to popular demand, thus you can order otherwise by requesting the wait staff.
