just pathetic 2010-03-02
My friend and I decided to try the cooking on stone concept so walked in at about 2:30 pm. We were asked to go upstairs for the buffet at 'roomali with a view'. We insisted that we would like to try out their menu which they reluctantly agreed.
The place looked shabbily maintained although we could tell the ambience was tastefully done when they opened. The waiter didn't have much of a clue about the menu as he was oriya serving Awadhi food apparently.

Very Bad, Serves stale food. 2009-11-16
Visited Urban Nawab after hearing about the kababs served on hot stone.
I must say they served absolutely chilled kebabs which might have been prepared 2-3 days ago as it can be determined from the freshness of kababs and tikkas which were absolutely hard.
We ordered raita in which curd was like 5 days old absolutely bitter. On complaining they simply put the sugar in the same and served back.
And moreover Drinks which were to be served in the starting of the meal were served when everything was done.
Truly a Bad Experience not worth visiting. -

The Urban nawab has a limited menu of kababs, biriyanis, sheermal ( which was not available), a few drinks and desserts.
One would expect the food to be superlative if the menu is so restricted. Not so here... they could not even get the seasonings right. The kababs were overcooked and tiny,the biriyani overspiced, the raita too sour and the salan undersalted, .
The portions were very disappointing as well.
Terrible yet expensive experience.
On the plus side were the ambience and the service. -

2. Lot of space to sit...(restaurant is still struggling to find good customer base)
3. And yeah....the STONEGRILL (restaurant has boards for STONEGRILL innovation all over)

1. VERY limited menu - infact there are only 7/8 options avaialble
2. EXPENSIVE
3. Manager will sit on head to get the order (what else can be expected, when there are not lot of people to keep him busy)
4. STONE GRILL - Kabab sticks to stone and difficult to remove

No sense of time or service 2009-07-29
This is on Marathalli/Outer Ring Road. We wanted to go to Roomali on the 4th floor, but we passed this on the third floor and were intrigued by the decor and the concept. So we took a chance. For the most
part the restaurant was empty. The handful tables they had, were all waiting for food, not much eating was being done. It looked like everyone was looking over their shoulder to check on their orders.
Everytime we asked the wait staff, they would say two more minutes sir. Took them over an hour to get our food. Even the check took them 20minutes. No one including the manager knew how... read more -

Limited choice, expensive, but good food 2009-05-20
The Good:
- Veg platter was good as was the main course
- The stone grill is innovative
- Decent ambience, still uncrowded
The Bad:
- VERY limited menu.
- More expensive than the BJN restaurants
- The biryani didn't match up to the rest of the meal
Do Go:
- You aren't a vegetarian, thereby allowing you more than one option per course
- If 75 bucks for aam panna doesn't faze you
- If you want to try something out of the ordinary
Avoid:
- If you like being spoilt for choice
- If you dislike listening -
