  • Garden ambience, great mains, oki dessert 2011-12-18

    Positives:
+ perfect for those who love the outdoors; a setting amidst a garden; lots of space for the kids to run around & play with
+ most of the mains are excellent (about INR 200 per piece)
    + service is pretty quick

    Not So Goods:
    - desserts just did not keep up with the mains

I will definitely go back for seconds - mainly due to the ambiance & food. Fresh of breath air in the area.

  • Tad disappointing this time around. 2011-08-02

My last visit to this quaint alfresco eatery happend to be on the last wekend. It was around 3 in the afternoon and we were in urgent need for a satisfying meal.
Ordered for mashed bangers and herb roasted chicken.
The sausages were nothing different than the frozen variety avalaible everywhere, though the onion sauce was nice. The mash was fine too. What i had expected was fat and juicy home made sausages ,hence the disappointment.
The herb roasted chicken was good ,though the big portions with bone did make it very difficult to eat.We had to ask for a bread and was promptly provided.

  • Must Visit Again 2011-07-06

Having a long saturday and wanting a strong coffee in the evening me and my friend ended up in this place while passing through basavangudi road. No one invited us, made us to think if we have ended up at the right place. Though garden filled with buddha statue invited us with grace. Menu was interesting as this place is amazing to have European cusine. After having proper english salad, Assamese tea and Kaati rolls we left the place by telling "Must Visit Again" in unison.

  • Amazing ambience, finger licking food 2011-03-06

I happend to visit this place to celebrate a birthday. I happened to hear of rogue elephant from a foodie blog and the minute i heard the name, I wanted to hit this place. Very creative name indeed!

Ambience is set in the midst of a small garden. Splendid, clean and calm I would say and the servers are very friendly and nice. Menu is limited but everything on the menu is amazing.

We tried the crab claws imitation made of fish. I must say "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious". It was mind-blowing. We tried the pita bread and mutton kebabs as well. This was disappointing compared

  • An ode to incredible salads and desserts 2011-01-05

Planning a lazy weekend afternoon? Then head right here to Rogue Elephant which gives you a wide open courtyard as your eating area with the most amazing and unique selection of salads and desserts.Of course there is other food as well, but they dont really stand out much in terms of flavor and hence missed the 5 star rating I would have liked to give this restaurant.

This place is famous for its Fig salad which is not on the menu but is a definite must-try.This is a delightful mix of fresh lettuce, walnuts, figs, pannacota cheese all held together with a generous drizzle of Balsamic vinegar

  • I loved it 2010-07-31

That's the line my wife yelled out when I spoke to her about writing the review for this place. Set in the old time neighborhood of Basavanagudi, this is a very quiet place considering the traffic around the area, has very little seating, and well surrounded by greenery. Staff were well mannered and we had a good feel about the place from the moment we stepped in.
They have limited menu, but a good selection of Italian and a bit of middle eastern cuisine.

    Pros:
    Greenary
    Food
    Service

    Cons
They dont accept any sort of plastic money, so no credit or debit cards.

  • Dedicated to the Fantastic Fig Salad! 2010-06-10

A friend of mine and I in a mood for some salads, thought Rogue Elephant would be a good option and now we swear by it…
A passage with a lovely garden with some exotic potted plants and gardening ornaments welcomes us to the restaurant.
The tall trees, cool weather and the yum food made the lunch absolutely pleasant!
Finding this place was easy after I read Roopashree’s review which had the road map to the place! The place has a small board with the name and a picture of a cute flying elephant, close resemblance to the cartoon character DUMBO!

It’s a humble place with tables

  • Its diet time.. or is it??? 2010-06-10

When my friend and I were discussing the venue for our lunch the next day, she recommended this place and said.. "Ranja.. u get only salads there it seems..". so with that impression in mind we reached Rogue Elephant on a Wednesday afternoon. The first problem that we encountered was of parking. There is no 4 wheeler parking in close range. We had to park our 2-wheeler on the foot path with some difficulty. With the parking taken care of, we walked inside the restaurant and were transported to a totally different place. As one enters the place it is lined with an array of pots and plants that are... read more

  • Amazing Salads! 2010-03-30

I was in mood for some delicious Salad and Voila! The Rogue Elephant has opened its doors in South Bangalore. I’ve never been to the one in Ulsoor but always heard rave reviews about it. The glimpse of this was sufficient for me to barge in. Pulled my friend along to try out some salads and more!

The Rogue Elephant is located opposite Krishna Rao Park in the Basava Ambara Premises in the middle of the Garden. It’s the same road that leads you towards the end of flyover near National College and Corner House. As you enter, you would notice plants and pots kept for sale. A few steps ahead,
