  • Great food, even better service, but expensive 2012-05-03

7 of us went there last week, and it was a great experience overall.

Since we had an infant, we had booked in advance and requested for a high chair. This was promptly provided on arrival. The waiters even rearranged the chairs so that a couple of people could reach the infant if required. Service was great, and the waiters extremely polite and professional. The food was good, though some of the starters were a little on the oily side. The main course rice + gravies were perfect, though.

The place is more expensive than the 2 "$$" that is indicated above. Soups + starters + main

A must visit place for all people who has a taste bud for Chinese Cuisine. We went for an office dinner and was pleasantly surprised by the taste, service and the overall experience.

  • Excellent food, quick service, a bit pricey 2012-02-20

All of us who went to this place are vegetaraians so this review is limited to veg food.
The food was simply excellent in taste.
    Portion size is good
    Service is quick
    Somewhat pricey
The only downside was that we had asked for a high chair for the baby and what they gave was literally that - a chair that was high - but it was in no way appropriate to seat a baby. So we ended up having her next to us the whole time and this was a a little discomforting for both her and us.

  • Excellent food and service 2011-12-29

Went on a weekday for lunch. Was bowled over by the choices and the quality of food and service. Best Chinese/Thai food I ever had in Bangalore. I think it is better than mainland china and less expensive as well. Will recommend it to people any day.

  • Indo Chineese Kolkatta style 2011-10-24

But the Bongs say the one in Kolkatta is better...

Considering there were not too many options in the area, Chung Wha & the newly opened mainland China notwhithstanding, this is a OK place.

    Decent food and good service.

Not a bad place to go to in a pinch.

  • Excellent Indo-Chinese! 2011-09-29

We moved to Bangalore recently. We live in south Bangalore and there seems to be a lack of fine dining restaurants this side of town. Driving for an hour all the way to Koramangala/Indiranagar for dinner is not my idea of fun. So we decided to check out Tangra - a mere 10 minutes from where we lived. We were not disappointed! The food is great as is the ambience. The portions are decent. Prices are very reasonable. I particularly liked the chicken dim sum, drums of heaven and thai yello curry. The vegetarian appetizers i.e. crispy mushroom and a babycorn dish (I dont recall the name) were great... read more

  • Very decent food, I was happy. 2011-09-10

I've been here twice already in the last month not because I live closeby, because I got to eat good food. I can't remember what we ordered, but we ordered a bunch and everyone of us liked it. I don't know if it's better than Mainland china but it's most definitely better than Aromas of China. (I wonder what is wrong with BJN these days, they suck) Pricing is perfect, decent portions and Chinese wasn't greasy as all.Great. I remember the starters were pretty good. If I remember right, i think we ordered crispy fried vegetables and fried spinach (it was alright, I've had better ones)

  • Desi stuff in fine style 2011-08-22

I like what they have done with the name. Removed all pretensions of serving Indian style cuisine with fancy advertising. This is standard Indian style chinese served in the comfort of a fine dining ambience. The menu has no surprises and caters to the palate of the typical Indian diner.

We visited this place during the Dim Sum festival. The one thing I liked was the Dim Sums being made fresh on order right in plain sight. Maida flour was used sparingly for the outer pocket which is a fresh change. The prawn filling was fabulous - something bsaic and simple which most restaurants are not

  • Satisfies the Cravings for Indo-Chinese food. 2011-07-11

I went to this place today with two of my friends(1 a vegetarian and one a non -vegetarian). The only disaster was the mocktails.. we ordered a mango tango and litchi sparkle which were both made with some artificial crush and were horrible(sort of like the stuff you get in ccd) .However when we informed them they quickly offered to replace it but we settled for tried and tested sweet lime soda. The starters mushroom and baby corn, lime chicken and prawn dumplings were just the perfect comfort indo-chinese satisfy your craving kinda food .. spicy and sweet..For main course we had a egg schezwan... read more

  • For those who like real indo chinese 2011-06-14

For those of you who like the taipans, chungs, chung-wahs of bangalore, great place to go. Good food. fast service. Good variations to the standard "chinese" menus. Ours was a large group and the overall experience was excellent, coupled with a reasonable price. I wish the management would enable a proper parking spot - like most new places, valet parking is available (however this means parking in the surrounding residential neighborhoods)
