We went in there wanting to try something different, and yes as most reviewers mention here.. the ambience pleased us. And that's about all we were pleased by. The food was disgusting, the service was pathetic. The food was so bad that it set new standards for horrible food. All of it was stinky and undercooked.. oh and how can I forget the large blackened rotten lemon that was apparently the highlight of one of the main course dishes. I don't remember the name. I was burrpin on a friday afternoon to find out good restaurants for a perfect friday evening and I found Sufi :)
To start with the ambiance, it was splendid ! The Iran/Persian restaurant had their interiors done in the Iran way and it was the highlight of the place. This place looks like a typical indoor restaurant at the first sight, but its not! Its got windows open for ppl to taste their simply authentic Hukkah (the culture/tradition of Iran)! Don't go there if you're not experimental please!! 2012-03-01
Had visited this place long back. The interiors are awesome,you feel like you're in Iran! Don't remember the names of the dishes but ordered 2 kinds of rice, 2 different varieties of mutton kababs, some chick pea dish and a really heavy dessert made of flour and dates! The food was great!!
Visit this place if you like to try new stuff and DON'T GO IF YOU CAN'T THINK OF ANYTHING APART FROM CHICKEN/PANNER/ DAAL THINGY!
Seriously,why would anyone go to an Iranian place to feast on daal? There are more than enough places to cater to 'safe' food!! Can't remark about the present level of service -

Nothing for the veggies 2012-02-15
Well, this place certainly isnt for the vegetarians i must say.
The dal and paneer were among the worst i have eaten in my life.
The non vegetarian food is better, we tried the murg makhani and biryani which were good. The chicken kababs with saffron rice are agood idea, though Indians are not used to eating it witout gravy. But the chicken was soft nd juicy.
Service was average and ambience was not bad either.
But then there's plenty of good options serving similar food which is tastier, so choose wisely. -

How do i even begin to write a review...
Their food and the service was not up to the mark...
The waiters dint even place our table properly... We had to request each n everything .. from the plates, the glasses, the tissues, the spoons...
THE FOOD ARRIVED after an hour.. the main course was served first and it was some other dish that we dint order... LAST CAME OUR STARTERS ....
AND I have to say am not a FAN of IRANIAN food... am not saying i will not try it out again.. probably in a different restaurant...

Nice Ambiance 2012-01-28
Loved the ambiance. Breezy and relaxing. Food took forever to be served even when there were only 3 tables. Cant have that on a weekday afternoon. The kebabs tasted good but not spectacular. The Service staff was clueless. Needs work and has potential. -

The ambiance of this place is amazing. But nothing else is. The food and the service are very disappointing. The kebabs were raw and bloody from the inside. They weren't well cooked and we had to send our plate back to the kitchen. The main course was stinking. Initially we thought it was the cutlery, but it was the food which had some strange acid smell. When we called the manager and complained, he started giving us stories as to how persian food is cooked like this and smells a certain way. We asked for the cheque and decided to leave. For christ sake , if you are an indian don go here for the food...................the best wat you can do here is try the hookah ,enjoy the ambience and get 2 floors down to empire and have some insanely sane food.................. -

Good Ambiance...Slow Service....Pathetic Food 2011-12-27
We were happy when we entered the place, infact we remained happy till food arrived.
1) First came the soup:
Some of us ordered VEG while some including me ordered NON-VEG soup.
Both were actually same. That was DAL (yes it was moong ki DAL) and they added 2 small (very small) chicken pieces in it to make it non-veg soup.
2)Then came the starters:
Uncooked chicken with loads of oil, we were hungry but still could not eat it much, none of the starter was finished completely.

Wonderful kebabs! 2011-12-27
Been here 4 times in the last 3 months - that's how difficult it is to resist the chelo kababs at Sufi. Have tried all the kebabs made with minced meat / chicken / beef. They are fantastic. Chelo Kebabs are great value for money too.
The other stuff - well, I've never bothered to try any of the other stuff there! Didn't ever feel the need! :)
They could add better desserts though. -
