  • Nice Mini Meals on Weekdays 2010-04-13

We went there for lunch today. Only 'Mini Meals' will be available on week days.

They have given us: Rice, Sambar, Rasam, 3 Chapati, Kurma, Fry, Curry, Curd, Pickle, Appalam

Chapati & Kurma were quite good. Sambar, Rasam were also good (that they are NOT sweet :-)). Rice quantity was decent.

Service was prompt & good. Overall, satisfying meal.

Value for money - 52 Rs for Mini Meals that was quite filling.

When I asked, they told they have Special (Deluxe) meals in weekends. May be, I will try some weekend.

  • Great place! 2009-11-14

We actually went to this place on Friday night for 'tiffin'. The place is a great no fuss place and very very light on the pocket. Service was quick and food yummy. The waiter even offered to wash our 3 year old's hands since my husband and I were still eating! Will definitely come back again for more!!

  • Where Mini in Big! 2009-09-02

Just love this place. Its best suited for those boring weekdays in office when you may need a binge to up your mood.
    They are good because
    1. Good South indian (tamilian mostly) - Right from korunbu, saambar, puri to the papad and fried Thair molaga (red chillies soaked in curd and salt and then deep fried). If you are lucky then you might just get vettai korumbu.
    2. Waiters are nicefellas - Once, we were pretty late for lunch and the papad, fried chillies were soggy. We complained, they immediately fried more just for us.
    3. Lunch is Rice plate, menu based in the mornings

  • REAL curd rice! 2008-04-06

One can always find three types of businesses in every Bangalore street - wine shops, pharmacies and darshinis/sagars. I love the wine shops ("counter shots"!) and the pharmacies - one does need to pop Liv-52s to keep going back to the wine shops, but the darshinis suck ass big time! They were cute for about 5 minutes, with their ready to eat vadas and the online dosas, but the food usually is extremely crappy. There are a few exceptions of course but most of the sagars serve bad food. Where else can one get curd rice with pineapple and pomegranates in them, and red, sweet, thin sambhar? But back... read more

  • Tamil meals on a banana leaf 2007-09-20

For the Tamilian missing authentic veggie meals, Sri Krishna Kafe is a must-do trip that will satisfy you. Absolutely no frills whatsoever but just plain good food served in banana leaves, this Bannerghatta Road outlet is newer than the Koramangala main branch. It is located on a tiny lane (right next to Inscape, the roadleads to Strides factory) right opposite IIM B and is more reminiscent of a wedding dining hall than a restaurant. Basic tables and chairs and a counter where you collect the coupon and pay for your meal form the ambiance and the place is packed with bachelors satiating their... read more
