  • Expensive ...

This was a place I had been wanting to try for its desserts and finally visited it over this weekend. The place was smaller than we expected, but quite clean and comfortable. We had the chicken tarts, a chicken quiche and dutch truffle cake. The only thing that matched our expectation was the tarts , the cake was nice, but not the best I have add, the quiche was under salted and did not taste good at all. For the prices they are charging you expect more better food than just saying it was average. I agree with the below comments that the prices are way too high for quantity and quality they are... read more

  • sad pasta at a ridiculous price

i must agree with the review below. this place is an absolute rip off. have heard about the deserts but when i did get to the place ended up having their chicken pasta. the cream sauce was pretty mediocre, a load of fresh cream and some pieces of grilled chicken does not make the best cream sauce specially at a price of 222 plus tax. hello this place is like a small take away counter..really don't know what they think of themselves. the salad was pretty sad too with the tomatoes tasting not soo right. disappointing meal..

  • still great food, but hiked prices

I was quite the regular to this tucked-away joint. And though the pastries were exorbitantly expensive (comparatively) the more exotic ones are really worth it (raspberry mascarpone, Irish cream gateaux, etc).

After a brief hiatus, I went there recently, taking my friends along, and ordered a pasta and lasagne, I was quite shocked. The eats do not have the prices explicitly mentioned and naturally one would assume that prices would be more or less the same (from when I had eaten last).

however, both the lasagne and the pasta were EACH at Rs 266 + Tax (another Rs. 33)! This

  • Saved my day ,,, made me a hero

I have been to this place twice with my friend.I saw picture of some of
their cakes in some food mazagine.Thought why not give it a try.
I am a new addict to GPS system and some time stupidly follow the path
it indicates. I did this mistake and google map took me and my friend to
a location which was a quite colony. I kept looking up and down but couldnt
find. Good sense prevailed and we called them. We came back till Sapna
Book House and then Nilgiris. Somehow found it.
All the while was praying, it better be good, else i am dead. I was nervous

  • Good but too expensive...CANNOT visit again!

I have been to this place once and the desserts are genuinely very tempting and delicious. Must try is their mud pie

But the food is exorbitantly expensive...one slice of mud pie is over 100 bucks and the 35 bucks cakes mentioned are like tiny slices...even if i wanted to I could not visit this place very often. Another important thing are the cakes...each cake...though in very unusual and tempting flavors are about three times the price.

I really think you guys are doing a very specialty and select customer based job...but the prices are such that I think you have alienated a

  • Good Desserts...Outrageous pricing

After reading so many good reviews went to SOS..looked like they have few desserts which are available regularly and few are changed everyday. Ordered a Raspberry Cream Gateaux which cost Rs.105..i thought the pricing was shocking...i have had desserts at a lot of places which tasted similar or better..but nothing comes close in terms of pricing..

  • Every spoonful a delight.

I guess all the positive reviews that this place has received leaves me with very little to say. But still I guess the best place for desserts in Bangalore deserves some word from everyone who's been to it. I have been here twice, and have loved the food. Haven't tried out the sandwiches or the lasagna yet. But will try that out soon. All in all, I must say that this place has become the benchmark against which I measure the other pastries that I eat. I would give it a 4.5/5.

  • Answer to my prayers

Spoonful of sugar is the answer to my prayers. I have always regretted the fact that Bangalore lacked an exclusive and exotic desserts place and so was thrilled when my mom and I discovered Spoonful of Sugar a year ago. That it is just a 5 minute walk from my home makes it even more appealing.
The sandwiches there are absolutely amazing and I go there at least once a month to order a Herbed Chilli Cheese sandwich (my favorite). The non veg lasagne is also wonderful - original, fantastically flavoured and very tasty. I am also a fan of the eclairs, their tartlets and the wonderul array of cakes

    Dear ragpicker1,
Thank you for all the amazing comments and encouragement.Very few people understand our concept, which is of a European Patisserie. Our ingredients are of the highest quality, and hopefully you noticed that in the taste of both our desserts and savouries.
Will surely start keeping some coffee table books and magazines on our tables.
Thank you for the feedback once again.
