Oh God, why is that everything that I like either immoral, illegal or fattening...
Spoonful of Sugar whole heartedly contributes to the last piece of the above lament of mine.
Never before have I had pastries so rich and so well made. A usual ritual of four of us frequent 'Spooners' is to simply close our eyes and roll the pieces of pastries around in our mouths. Pure, divine heaven!!!
Our regular orders are always the Creamy Oreo Cheese Cake and the Chocolate Mud Pie (remember to ask for a topping of cream when ordering for this one!). And they're simply soooo sinfully rich with the cream. Unfortunately, we never end up trying anything else there yet and each time we go there, we keep telling ourselves we'll try something different only to find the same familiar pastries in front of us and the same familiar feeling of delight inside us. Everytime.
Cost wise, it is slightly on the higher side. A good pastry party for four easily costs us about Rs 600/-.
The place is tucked inside a pocket road by the Sri Krishna Temple road (the road parallel to CMH behind the Coffee Day Lounge), the landmark being the nearby Nilgiris supermarket. Parking should not be too much of a problem as there is a mesh of roads all around.
It's a self service joint, and the guys there are very friendly and nice, though I've never seen the proprietor smile - maybe she's just too busy thinking of the refilling the fast moving cakes :) . There's a noticeboard which have clippings of reviews from foreigners, local folks and reviews which came in various newspapers.
Ambiance wise, we four like the table right outside the entrance door. Unfortunately, there's not too much place to sit outside, so you might get the feeling of being a little cramped, especially if you come in a group of maybe six.
Overall, the best pastries I've had in Indiranagar!!!
