Spiga has an interesting menu, a combination of Mexican (!), Italian, and some Indian. I'm not generally a fan of "multi-cuisine" restaurants or their cousins "fusion" restaurants. I'm also wary of any Mexican restaurant outside of Mexico, or a Mexican barrio, so we didn't try the Mexican dishes.

I had pasta (fusili) in a tomato/garlic/basil sauce, while my partner had fish in spicy sauce. The food was uninspired, the pasta overcooked and the sauce had neither the brightness of fresh tomatoes, nor the deep caramelized sweetness of a long simmered sauce. The garlic had been burned, not

When I heard about Spiga First time ; I wanted to visit this place because of curiosity. There were mixed reviews about Spiga. So we went without any expectations. And It is far good beyond all expectations.
Ambience : It is sober but I felt the music was loud. And hence the people had to converse in high pitch.
Wait time: Hardly 10 minutes. But there should be some wait area where people can sit and wait.

  • Pleasant ambiance - good food 2006-12-25

This place is surprisingly nice and inexpensive - given the ridiculous prices of some of the neighboring restaurants. It was a little crowded when I went there - but that is to be expected on a Friday night. The food was good and plentiful. The only problem is that they do not have a liquor license - so no beer or wine. I would recommend it.
