The place is never very crowded.
It is always a good option when you want to explore some unknown / forgotten taste buds.

  • SeaFood at its best 2010-02-23

I visited this place after all the hype on twitter and other social networking sites (partially created by the owner himself).
Let me tell you, sea food here is an out of the world experience. One of the best I have had in town (Yes, I still believe that Goa and Kerala are the best for sea food).
Ordered couple of cocktails as well. However, I was not exactly happy with them. Cocktails were too diluted and made to taste exactly for the amount you would pay for it (cocktails are priced pretty low).

Overall, awesome ambiance, awesome food, not so good cocktails.

  • Disappointing.... 2010-01-02

I recently saw Shiok on inner Ring Road and was excited to visit the place since the only time I had been to Shoik about 4 years ago (The restaurant was on CMH road then), we had a pretty good lunch.
Although one of my managers had warned me that the palce was bad, I still went ahead as I love Thai food...

The place was bad... The food was ordinary.. I did not like the ambience either honestly.. Its probably been the worst Thai food I along with my friend have had in loong loong time... I generally do give restaurants a second chance but this one aint getting any second chance...

  • Shucks! 2009-09-29

They told me Shiok is authentic Thai - They did not tell me that when I go for lunch they will serve me a buffet with cold food and Nasi Goreng which was closer to Calicut Biryani

They told me I would love the colours - They did not tell me that I will see only two of them - Red and Green

They told me that its a simple place - They did not warn me that I may simply skip it

They still tell me they are right - I am scared to find out if they are.

  • Fine dining and a lounge to chill out 2008-12-10

I visited the Shiok-Moss lounge with not too many expectations but the place was a pleasant surprise! The green theme of the lounge, in-line with its name Moss, offers a soothing ambience. Also, their cocktail list is interesting. They keep coming up with new cocktails. If you are a girl, you may want to check out their Lady's night specials (on Wednesdays, see their Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=39295417270 ).

The restaurant on the ground floor has a beautiful oriental ambience. I am a veggie but I have to admit Shiok is one of the very few places where you don't

  • Very authentic for Malay, Thai and Indonesian 2008-06-16

What first drew me to this place was the name.

I lust after south-east Asian cuisine, and I had been looking for a
place in Bangalore where I could satiate my taste buds. And one very
    'hungry-for-Thai-curry' evening I googled "Thai food+Bangalore", and
that's when I was completely taken in by this name "Shiok" (which is
"yummy" in Singaporean English). It struck me as very authentic, and
one look at the (very well written) online menu and the chef's notes
and recipes told me that this place was about serious south-east Asian
    cuisine.
    Sure enough,

  • Most reviews by owner himself. 2008-02-19

I am guessing most of the reviews have been written by the owner and his friends, relatives. I once made the mistake of going there with a friend (who was in India for a limited time and was desperate to eat the Indian Chinese). First they do not serve any chinese food. Then we could not find any of the standard Thai, Indonesian or Vietnamese food. All they serve is the owners version of far eastern where most of the dishes are named after some place, so there is no way to judge what it is supposed to be.

One of the few places where you see food, service and ambience being top class. Lovely food and a very good vegetarian menu too. Service as always has been very nice.
Am sure your first visit will tempt you to go there again.
They sure understand the taste of the customers very well.

  • love shiok! 2007-09-16

They are located on the second floor of the building above A2B on CMH road.. not very far from the turning of pizza hut.

This is my fav haunt for 'eastern cuisine.' Infact their tangline says "far eastern cuisine" which in itself conveys that it's alot more than just chinese food. Infact my fav dish here is the sumatra fish in a slightly sweet red curry. I absolutely love it along with plain steamed rice. The place is a tad expensive but the decor, service and food more than make up for the prices.. The waiters are very courteous and serve you well.

    Their cocktails are reason

  • S E Asian food as it is supposed to be 2007-07-27

Have been to Shiok a number of times and have always been delighted. This time however we made the mistake of deviating from our normal choices - tom yom soup, satay, mee / nasi gorengs, red curries and went with some crispy chicken and veg stir fries. was a disappointment - the crispy chicken was not crispy at all and the veggies lacked the freshness that you would associate with stir fries.Had to ask for extra chilli sauces to try and make the food tasty. Anyways, given that we love this place, will put this particular outing to being an exception and still recommend Shiok to all those folks... read more
