  • Why name it Richies ? 2011-04-01

I am back in Bangalore after 15 years and find that finding a good eating place has become harder even though eateries have proliferated. So when a friend suggested lunch at Richies I went with trepidation.
We ordered mixed starters, Roghn Josh, Chicken Patiala with parathas and Mutton Biriyani.
The ambiance is fine and one can go with respectable company. However the decibel level of the customers is quite high. Maybe because of this the waiters don't listen to polite beckoning. The service is rag tag and totally unsatisfactory.
The food however is quite good. Particularly the

  • Great biriyani, no delivery 2010-09-03

the mutton biriyani for rs. 110 is absolutely yummy. the meat is very tender. call to see if it is available first. eg. they serve it only after 8:00 pm. since its so popular, sometimes they run out of it.

the gravies are the usual, oily but tasty. the mutton chops are fabulous. they have plenty of other kababs on the menu. not much for a vegetarian though.

i would not recommend dining in as richies cannot boast of great interiors, service etc. I would not recommend home delivery either as they have only 1 delivery person and the average delivery time is 2 hours to a place 5

  • Superlative 2009-12-07

Simply amazing, this place. I went here after a serious recommendation made by a family friend. With a majority of my in-laws being vegetarian, often have to eat out with an understanding husband...

Luckily, my craving for good Biryani gets answered these days at Richies. The best part is that its not very far from our new apartment. If you are familiar to this area you already know about Richies

If you are not, then you must surely visit this place. Very soon

They miss one start though because the general cleanliness in the loos is pretty ordinary

  • Mouth watering Mutton Biryani !! 2009-10-23

I went with my friends post a very high recommendation of one my Burrper friend... the recommendation turned out to be bang on !!
We ordered Mutton Biryani along with mutton chops... in one word.. Mind blowing.. the mutton was so tender, it practically melted in your mouth..
Also the spices have been done so well, that not once do they overwhelm you.. everything done to perfection...
The mutton chops were a revelation... never eaten such delicious ones.. although I was so full by then, it was hard to relish the chops beyond 2 pieces. I think the Nandinis of the world can take a leaf

  • Easily and by far the best Mutton Biryani in town 2009-08-31

Although I reside in Rajajinagar and have spent a good part of the last decade away from Bangalore, I have frequented the Frazer Town area for long enough to know it well. Imagine my surprise then, to figure out this place so late in the day! I have been a foodie for very long, own a restaurant now and have been in Bangalore for a good three decades. And I have travelled a bit - eaten delectable Biryani in Bombay, Hyderabad and pretty much all places that are acclaimed for the Biryani

So, let me tell you people, Richies in Frazer Town offers the best biryani. Period. I mean the mutton

  • WORST SERVICE IN BANGALORE 2007-06-16

-Ever had to sit at a "cleaned" table with leftovers on it from the last person's meal?
-Ever had a waiter just walk away from you, in between your order just because he wasn't interested in what you were ordering?
-Ever had to ask 3 different waiters for your bill and still not get it?
-Ever get a discount on your bill coz the cashier who came to give you your bill didn't have enough patience to wait for you to take out the total bill amount from your wallet?
    WELCOME TO RICHIES!

  • Best Biryani. 2007-02-01

It's tough rating a place like Richies. It really is. Not because the food isn't good, it is. But mainly because that's all that's good about it. The food. You really wouldn't go there for the ambiance, it's all fake wood, dim lighting from gaudy chandeliers and a, well ummm, an assorted crowd of diners. Much like other restaurants in the area.

But then, it's only about the food. And good God, it's incredible with one disclaimer, you need to be a carnivore, failing which, a poultry-vore.

There are only so many things one orders. Their mutton and chicken biryani cannot be beat.
