  • My rating: 3.5/5. 2011-07-10

Went to Rajvardhan on a Saturday morning for some good old vada pav.

Food: 4 out of 5. We ordered the vada pav and the misal pav. The best part is, they make things on order (certainly the vada) and the food comes to you piping hot. really appreciated that. Apart from catering items on the menu, they also carry goda masala, peanut-garlic chutney and a few other spices/condiments pertinent to marathi cuisine. The food was great! The vada was almost perfect. Nce and golden brown on the outside and well cooked on the inside. The misal was a touch too hot (chili) for my liking but was still

  • Good food but overpriced- just like life in Mumbai 2011-04-27

Rajvardhan seems to have lost favour with Burrpers in the last few reviews, and justifiably so. Yet, I would like to give this place another chance for the intent. There are select items which are good - the Sabudana Vada for instance. The Chole Batura is also not bad. However, the prices are abnormally high, especially by Bangalore darshini standards. Must say there have been some changes in the staff at the eatery which helped me avoid the cringing while paying for the food - they have hired 'local' staff and done away with the earlier bunch of staff from the North-East. With the earlier set... read more

  • Cashing on the Marathi brand 2011-04-26

This place is a rip off...Not that any other place in Blore isn't..but this one is a pure Pune style rip off...Bad service, Bad concoctions of the 'assal' marathi food and the balls to charge a bomb for it...We first tried the Sabudana Khichdi...50 bucks!! and it was kinda dry, not even hot and was smeared with grated coconut..The only good part was the curd which came with it..

Next we tried the Vada Pav...I would recommed Goli's vada pav near Forum rather than this vada pav wherein they put the Dosa style Alu sabzi in the vadas and charge you 26 bucks for one!! So I thought, lets try

  • Poorly Managed 2011-02-21

This place is poorly managed, used plates are kept all over the place and need to remind them atleast 4-5 times to clean up the tables.Though they charge extremely for every food item, they do not have any arrangement for Drinking water.Looks like they are making money just in name of Mumbaiya Food.Liked Poha and Vada-pav, Poori-bhazi/shreekand is below average

  • Way overpriced for average food 2010-07-19

We tried the sabudana khichdi, vada paav, dabeli, misal paav and thalipeeth and kairi panha.
I was born and brought up in Mumbai, so I know what authentic Maharashtrian food is.

And it is quite authentic in Rajvardhan. But unreasonably expensive for street food. The misal paav is extremely spicy.(And I love spicy stuff). Sabudana khichdi is average. I've eaten better and made better.
The thalipeeth is good. The dabeli not so much.

The price for the sabudana khichdi(Rs 45) and thalipeeth(Rs45) dabeli(Rs 22), misal paav(Rs 45) and for "one" vada paav (Rs 17)????? the

  • Mumbaiya 2010-03-12

A long time patron and a regular visitor, figured its high time I put down my appreciation here. Found out about the place after a review in a local daily, and went searching for the place. Its on the lane immediately after Big Bazaar(or opposite Central). I would not suggest the misal pav, its kinda weird, the way these people make it but the sabudana khicidi and sabudana vada, I will gladly give an arm for. Its delicious.Same goes for the vada pav. A discerning Bombay local, cribbing about the sorry state of chats in Bangalore gobbled down the puri shrikand in a matter or minutes and..thats sayin... read more

  • @ sam13 2010-01-28

sam13 it is sad on your part for not having a good experience at Rajvardhan Foods. But i personally had a sound experience. The place is really good. The things are priced high but for a reason. They are AUTHENTIC. You didnt get a chilly doesnt mean that it is not authentic. If u didnt get, ask for it. Well i interrogated his kitchen and saw that things were being prepared fresh so it takes time... and you got to be patient. An order takes maximum 10 mins. If there is rush(as i have experienced) it takes time, as it is prepared fresh.... and no body in bangalore can serve maharshtrian food as fresh... read more

  • Badly Run Place 2009-12-08

This place is cheap, only looks wise not price wise. A poorly run place by a woman with her north-eastern cohorts.

Other than vada paav everything is priced Rs 40 and upwards. Vada paav comes without toasted paav and without even a green chilli. So much for its authenticity. Stay away from their shreekands. Too sweet and more like sweetened curd.

The sabudaana khichdi is good but the quantity is less. Sabudaana vadas are too greasy.

The place seem to be run by retards for you have to keep reminding them your orders and asking them to hurry up. If you did that,
