  • A tramp on the ramp. 2011-04-07

I'm inside a mud hut, sipping water in dented glasses, having food on wobbly tables, Oily rice for pulav from waiters who blind sight people. I would give mixed reviews. The food is a little above average and the price is moderate. The ambience is rustic, but uncomfortable and hot. Not a place I'd recommend.

  • A Nice place to visit 2011-03-28

The place is always crowded, mixed crowd.
Everyone minds their own business as they are happy they have a table.

    Fodd is good
Ambience slightly hot, should make arrangements for good ventilation.
A must have is the Jal jeera.
    Not expensive at ALL.
    Dinner for 5 included-
1 starter, 10 phulkas, 3 sides, 6 jal jeeras, veg biryani, chicken biryani costed us
    just 1169.

  • Where's the masala honey ??? 2010-11-14

Inspite of the snazzy restaurants in the vicinity, we decided to make a beeline for Queens primarily because a few people in our group of 7 swore by its food and also because it won the BURRP Best VEG VFM award 2009 for Bangalore....For starters, we ordered paneer tikka and chilly where supposedly the paneer was succulent but the masala bland (I can vouch for the non veg items since I ate only those !!!) . We also ordered Peshawari tikka (chicken) which was good ...but again 5 pieces for 180 !!!! I'd be happier if they charged 250 but gave decent sized proportions.
    Coming to the main course,

  • Highly Overrated 2010-10-27

I visited the place over the weekend and must say that it is a very overrated restaurant. Located on Church Street opposite Oye Amritsar, it is a small restaurant serving north indian food. After hearing from a number of sources I decided to give the restaurant a try and I was really disappointed to say the least.

Firstly the restaurant is very small and if you land up on a weekend, the wait is easily close to 20 to 30 mins. There is no way that you can book a table and just walk-in straight. Apart from getting the table the service is very poor. We were sitting on our table for more

meal for two ll cost about 500.

MUST TRY : Dal , phulka , aloo gobi and lassi !

My friend and I, after watching a movie at Rex, hungry like never before, wanted to hog something quick and nice. We quickly walked on Church Street and I said, we must look nowhere but Queens. I’ve heard about this place from many and of course burrp! is anyday a good source of all the info wrt restaurants.

It’s a very small place giving you a total desi look with muddy walls being painted and the space totally crammed. We just had to wait for 5mins before occupying our table. As we were terrible hungry, we dint take too long to order the regular Rotis and Dal Makhni.
    The food isn’t

When you're out and want to avoid greasy, over spiced food, head here. The food is good. Probably as healthy as the food made at home The decor/ambiance..well..it's interesting. Quite dark (at noon) and poorly lit.
We were in a hurry one saturday afternoon and asked them to speed up the order. The service is prompt and courteous. Might have to wait if you get too close to the universal lunch time (1-3 pm), but since we were there at 12:15 pm, it was empty, save for us.

  • Consistently Good! 2010-04-21

Queens is all about the food and nothing but the food! ambiance is zero, decor zero, but food - now thats where she scores! Queens serves u the usual north Indian fare and snack rolls on the same lines... Now what really makes this place great is that this is the kinda a place u wanna go have a 'good' meal. like the other reviewers have said a 'ghar ka khana' feeling. But wouldnt go so far as telling that it just that...Dont go looking for 'gourmet' or fine-dining' food at queens! please .. its simple and good tasteful food! served without any ceremony! and it has been consistently good bout... read more

  • Good Food! 2010-04-12

Its difficult to spot this place.Dim lit, cave like ambiance, don`t feel like getting in when seen from outside.
Had phulkas and baigan ka bharta.Taste wise nothing special, its like ghar ka khaana. North Indian food with a slight south Indian touch .
    Reasonable price but small serving.
Congested dining area. Can`t talk loudly, can`t move the chairs.
Visit once for the homely food served in copper plates n bowls.
