Having read all the fab reviews of the place on Burrp, my wife and I made a beeline for Ping today (Saturday), but reached by 3:45, when they close lunch at 3:30. Disappointed, and ready to walk away, we were stopped by the staff who said that they could get us a limited variety of dimsums, sandwiches and desserts...given the time, it sounded pretty reasonable, and we appreciated their accommodating us.
As for the food, we ordered 1 Veg dimsum, 1 Veg pan fried dimsum and 1 Veg oriental sandwich (@ Rs 60 each) - these came by in about 10-15 minutes and were really very good, I preferred the pan fried dimsums and my wife, the plain ones. What was a true surprise though, was the sandwich...it was really awesome (the accompanying cole slaw was a bit too sour though), and we freaked out on it. Seeing the recommendations in graffiti on the big whiteboard outside, we ordered an 'Original Sin' (chocolate ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, couple of thing chocolate slices) which was good, not spectacularly great.
The bill (incl. service charges of 7%) came to Rs 290 (we'd ordered a fresh lime soda as well), which to me was quite reasonable, given the quantity / quality of food served, and I added another 10% as tip, in appreciation of their flexibility.
This is a good place for pretty much anything, except breakfast perhaps - the main courses sounded interesting, and if the quality is consistent, I'm sure to go here many more times. The management has got a good show going, just hope they don't try and tweak it in it's infancy.
P.S. - the only reason I'm giving it 4 and not 5 stars, is because we found a piece of plastic in the spring onion - coriander sauce, which could have easily been consumed (did not make a hue and cry about it, coz given how well we were treated, I reckon this was a honest mistake)...

Thanks and appreciate your honest and valued feedback.
The dessert bay was started to accommodate guests who would like to have a quick bite under an open ambiance. As you rightly said, we do have sandwiches and dim sums as short eats. One of the specialties of the Dessert bay is Bubble Teas ( Fruity flavored iced teas with Black Tapioca Pearls)
I apologize for the glitch in the sauce, and will be more careful to make sure it doesn't get repeated again.
We are looking forward to having you at the restaurant also, where we serve more than 35 varieties of Dim sums.
Thanks and looking forward to you P!inging again !!
