When the lights seem dimmer everytime you dine out at a chinese restaurant, you may want to wonder why. It's time to visit Ping when all the old chinese restaurants in Koramangala have begun to make you a little squeamish and squirmy.

Ping is fresh, clean and neatly laid out. A main dining area and an informal dessert bay make for an interesting dinner out.

The menu has enough depth to make you want to try a few dishes over time. Tonight it was Cantonese cuisine. I particularly enjoyed the crisp veggies in the stir fry and the sea food dim sum, here the crab-meat dim sum deserves a special mention. i couldn't really make out the difference between the fish and chicken dim sum. The sauces for the dim sum are light and tasty.

The egg drop soup I had could be thinner, I felt, without losing its flavour, perhaps I must ask them to customise it the next time I order!

The claypot dishes could be better, though again the veggies and chicken had taken up the flavour of the broth quite nicely, the noodles however were overdone.

The bubble tea was a nice accompaniment, a little syrupy but delightful to see on the menu in Bangalore. I thought beer or wine would be nice as well.

My wife and I enjoyed good service from attentive staff.

Of all the chinese restaurants in the area (outside of those attached to Hotels) that serve chinese cuisine modified to suit Indian tastes, Ping comes out on top.

It could easily become a favourite for chinese food once they work on their menu more.
