  • Best dimsums in town ! 2009-08-22

Today we felt like having chinese for dinner, and the regular options came up, but wanting to try a new place, we decided upon P!ng.

    Ambiance: 3/5
Could have been setup better. Like many other places, it lacked innovation and seemed like any regular place with the difference it being a bungalow.
The lights were a little too bright for my choice, a little dimmer and it would give it a good feeling.

    Service: 3.5/5
The service was pretty good through out, the only glitch being, they forgot the soups we had ordered for. The waiters were polite, fast and neat. The Manager also checked in on us once in a while. Found the service better than most other places in the same league.

    Food: 4/5
The Food was really good, especially the dimsums. We ordered for 2 dimsums:
    The lamb & ginger wotip
The Lotus Leaf Sticky Parcels with Chicken and Shitake

Both were equally good and so much better than any other place we've had. The soup ( Bean Curd and Spinach Wonton Soup ) failed to impress us.
On the main course, the Burnt Garlic noodles were delicious and light on the stomach. Very well made.
The seven flavour chicken, well.. it was mostly sweet for me. Didnt really find 7 flavours.
We finished up with ice cream for desserts, the original sin ( chocolate ice cream ) was really yummy! One of the better chocolate ice creams in town.

All in all, we did enjoy the food.

    Price:
Average meal for 2 came to Rs. 1150 ( minus drinks. No Alcoholic beverages served)

I would definitely come back to P!ng for dimsums and desserts.
